Default quick class question..99Rs

Mods list:
-KYB AGX
-Prodrive P1 springs
-Exedy Stage 1 clutch
-12lbs flywheel
-WRX rear sway(20mm)
-'00MY pistons due to slightly higher CR than the OEM '99MY
-Stock exhaust and cats
-Stock brakes,lines, and wheels

Depending on class I'll run R-comps...I'm being told I'm in an SP class.

Clutch/Flywheel fine.

Edit:
The pistons? Need to swap the engine as a whole.

If there was anything that was done to the engine other than pistions in the '00 vs the '99 then it needs to be brought over also. Easier to swap as a whole '00 into the '99. If the engine is 'exactly' the same with the exception of the pistons, then it's fine and you're in DSP. However, if anything else was changed in the '00 vs the '99, you're in a prepard class, not SP.

If I'm not mistaken, the block, crank and rods have the same PN for a 99 and 00. The pistons are different, but I am 99.9% sure it is the only difference. That said, the heads would have to be from an 00 as well or it's not a legal UD/BD. If your 99 has the SOHC heads, you should be fine for DSP, as they are the same as later years.

'99's were SOHC. If that's the case and everything's the same, should be legal.

the compression ratio changed, so something is different in the longblock. On the surface, its now a SM/Prepared car. if there was no CR change ur OK. but if u change the head and leave the shortblock the same classing result, no?

The CR change is due to piston crown shape. The 98's are dished while the 99 got some weird in between crown and the 00+ are virtually flat. That is why I referenced the PN's for the rods, crank and cases. If those carry over, he's in the clear as a legal UD/BD.

I asked about the heads because there have been people who've taken delivery of 99RS' that had a phase II bottom end and DOHC heads.

I left the '99 heads as they had been resurfaced and refurbished at the machine shop. SO, I have a '00 shortblock using '99 heads. That's the only engine change, hell the intake is stock with a stock panel filter. HAHAHA

I was just curious to know the class. As usual I appreciate the information. I can't wait to get back into autoxing...it's been tooo long.
