Default Trade: APS intercooler for 08/09 STI intercooler.

Exploring the possibility of trading my APS TMIC for an 08/09 STI intercooler. I've been using the APS at the last 3-4 track days so, it works perfectly. Along with being so big, though, it's pretty heavy and I want something lighter but, still bigger than the stock GD STI intercooler. Since the APS comes with a mounting bracked for the passenger side, I'm going to be wanting the stock mounting bracket for that side too.

New, the STI intercooler is cheaper but, I don't really need to have ANOTHER intercooler sitting in my shed. The STI intercooler can be had for $500 online. Buying a new one is my next choice if this trade doesn't go through.

I'm located near Leesburg.

Mine doesn't have the painted on APS label though.

So will this match up against an 08/09? If so, I may be interested.

My impression is that the motors are about the same, GD and GR STI but, I can't answer the question for sure. I know the bracket on the passenger side is specific to the intercooler and the 08/09 bracket is different than before.

I'll do some research.

shouldn't take long to just test fit the tmic. All i know for sure is the 80/09 is wider at like 22" then normal tmic's at 20" +/-. hence the slightly different passenger side bracket. im sure it would work with some rigging.

I'd be willing to do the trade, but this probably isn't the Forester fit APS.

How come it isn't painted? I didn't know you could get them that way.

No clue. I was thinking it's an early production model. This is the GD Impreza fitment. I don't know how that differs from the forester.

I have a 2008 STI TMIC I just picked up for my '02 Bugeye. I haven't put it on yet, but do have all the brackets for it. I may be willing to trade you. I will be in NOVA the week of Thanksgiving, so maybe we can work something out.
