Default What's the average price on Sti longblock?

I was curious what's the average price on low-mile (<50k) Sti longblock with engine harness, ecu, turbo, etc..

Are there particular year engines I should stay away from? I recall reading that (?)07+ Sti with immobilizer unit require dealer or tuner to mess with ECU to get it operational.

Thanks a bunch.

Ehhhhhhhhh.... around $3,000. You could shop around in the "car part out" section or the "personal for sale" section, but these guys normally keep them in stock.

I'd like to know about your experience, as well as the alternatives.

I have NO idea about the quality of their used motors, but I will say that their knowledge and honesty/integrity is in question in my eyes.

Until last week they thought an EJ207 and an EJ205 were the exact same block. When I look for an engine builder, a few things come to mind; knowledge, attention to detail, and precision. Now I'm not saying that they cant or wont build good blocks, but all kinds of red flags went up after they replied that those blocks were one and the same. I'm sure that thread will eventually either be x filed, or buried, and no one will be the wiser

Ive seen them come into the wanted ads and post up quotes for used parts that make the dealership look like dollar general. Example: stock A-pillars for $40-50. Seriously?? For this reason alone, I wont buy a thing from these guys. Yes it's true, everyone needs to make a buck and buyer beware, etc, etc. But this is a tight community and vendors should be trying to help out, not take advantage.

Mods..feel free to move, delete my post because it probably doesn't belong here. I'm really not trying to smear these guys, I just dont dig vendors trying to rape the unsuspecting. They have the resources to be a GREAT vendor.
