Default JDM Engine Specs, where are they?

Sorry if this is better in the factory forum but i know you guys more than them...anyways i searched and searched but could not find the list that desribes all the engines like Xhp with variable valve timing. and info on if the deck is opened or closed.


i know there is a list and its been posted ac ouple times but i cant seem to find it.

that doesnt really help. it doesnt have the info im looking for (which have closed deck/forged pistons/etc).

but i thikn i found some info from a friend

96 and before RAs=closed deck
STis=forged pistons
VVT=new age


any other info like this i should know about?

Note that the STi motors are all "unique" as each owner could order them up with options, like forged pistions, better valves etc.

Some of the early STi heads had solid lifters instead of the hydraulic lifters that were normaly installes.
