Open source is a great method to go especially if there are people in the area to help you tune it.
http://www.romraider.com/ It is for windows and i think for linux. Im not too sure about mac compatability though. If you want to tune yourself you need a tactrix cable to connect, and a wideband O2 sensor and an EGT if you want to learn to tune yourself. |

Ya, you can do it. You might need to run boot camp, but its still possible on your mac. This link should help out a lot with the opensource questions that you have, especially check out the stickies. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=177

Oh, and opensource has all if not more of the tuning capabilities of the major tuning manufactures (I wish I knew that before I bought an access port, thankful Clark Turner exists).
Before you actually get OS though, make sure there is someone in your area to help you (or you to pay to do it) or talk to some of the OS tuners on the forums to make sure that they can deliver on your personal goals. |

^ ya, SCIC has a lot of people that opensource and my guess is that you could find someone to help you out. Tuning can be a little tricky and its always nice to have someone who knows what their doing look over your shoulder to double check your work, just in case. Thats where the AP comes in handy because it is noob friendly.

due to the invention of opensource there are TONS of people out there that fancy themselves "tuners" just beware the shade-tree tuner |
