I just bought a blue MY00 RS and I have about a thousand bucks to toss at it for modifications. I was looking for some opinions as to which would be best for my money. Thanks Leo

SUSPENSION!
1) Rear Sway Bar (18mm or 20mm, or Whiteline adjustable from for both) 2) Springs (I have Eibach Pro Kit on stock struts) 3) Struts if you want to do it all at once 4) Tires.. The above helps, but tires will probably help the most for the money. My next mod is tires. There are lots of information about this stuff, so try searching with the search option. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Just remember, there are tons of opinions on this board (including mine), so know what you want too. We are having a big meet Aug. 20th near Hartord CT. You should come out and see the cars with the modifications, and most will let you drive/ride in them. It is really great. I would not spend any money until you meet some of us. Within this forum, I would say we cover all the typical mods. Good luck, Paul |

Thanks Paul. If I can make it on the 20th that sounds like a great idea.

Definitely tires. One set for winter, another set for summer. I have Michelin Pilot Alpins for winter, and Yokohama AVS Sports for the summer.
Also, you should get a Whiteline adjustable rear sway bar. Oh, and don't forget your trunk monkey. ![]() |

hmmm... everyone is going to have a different opinion on this one!
i would take off the re92s and save them for winter, they are an all-season tire and although i have not had mine in the snow, they are supposedly competent (not as good as a snow tire, obviously). put on a good summer tire... bridgestone re730, pirelli p7000 supersport etc. (do a search in the tech forum for tires and you will have a lot of reading to do). so there goes $400 or so on tires. that leaves you with $600 left. what do you want? go-fast in a straight line? better handling? good looks? if u want better handling, you could drop in a set of springs with the stock struts for a few hundred and save for some struts, or find someone selling a used setup. for go-fast, maybe an intake and start piecing together an exhaust with a high flow cat or an AFC. for looks, maybe a new muffler, clear corners and some tint. it all depends where you want to go from here. hope this helps. boomer |
