I run Yokohama ice gaurds on my A4. I can barely break them loose on snow packed roads and cost me about $90 each.

Firestone Winterforces on 16" stockers. it's a good combo, especially for the price I paid.

(thanks again, RJ)

Tire rack has Bridgstone Blizzaks for $65 a tire, for 245/40/17's. I bought a pair a few months ago but now if you buy them this month you get a $50 amex gift card.

I also have the Ice bears, but not a big fan them. I previously had some Yokohama's on my old teggy they were awesome. Get some yoko's for show!

Tony, for the 400 u will spend on tires would get u a winter beater! I know u dont wana grose up ur car with all that salt stuff
Plus a 2nd car will actually lower ur insurance quite a bit.

At first I was like then I was like

My first winter I tried to drive to work on the re070. It was abotu 5:30 in the morning and the roads hadn't been plowed yet. I pulled out of the driveway just fine. drove down the street with out any problems. Then I tried to stop at the sign. Nothing happened. The car didn't even begin to slow down.... I went back home and called into work saying I would come in when the roads were cleared up. I then purchased snow tires.

+1, blizzaks are the best. I bought these as well to replace my old blizzaks that bit the dust. You will not find a better deal than the ones on tirerack. Best snow tires for an unbelievable price.

I've got Arctic Claws. I know I just had the one blow out on me, but they are still incredible tires in the powdery stuff. They felt like I was on dry pavement

I have these. Bought them at Big O last winter for less than $100 each. Mounted them on my stock 16" and I can drive pretty much anywhere I want I my RS.

I had blizzaks on my old car (2nd Gen Mits GSX) and they were awesome but I honestly can't tell a difference between them and the Ice Bears. I do know Big O quoted me about $160 a tire for the Blizzaks though.

Bridgestone Blizzaks are amazing, I ran LM25's on my bugeye last year and just ordered some LM22's for the Sti from tirerack for $65 a piece.

Hankook W300 Ice Bears . They get the job done but seem a little soft, but I don't have another tire to compare them against. If I could get the same performance with a stiffer sidewall, I'd go for it.
