Default Need transmission fixed

ok so i posted a thread just a while ago explaining the problems ive been having with my transmission. Basically what ive come to is its a synchro. I need a trusted mechanic to fix it for a reasonable price. I want to get it done quite soon so lets hear suggestions of who to take it to. I would like to watch some of the work if possible. Just curious about the transmission interior and such.. so let me know, thanks

I have a wrx transmission for $700. It might be cheaper than getting yours fixed. And they are easy to install.

Solid doesnt do transmission work. They reffered me to a guy named carl that does transmission out of his garage in his spare time.

He rebuilt my blown trans in 3 days, for 1200, did a good job

we don't rebuild transmissions at Solid. We don't have some of the tools to do it properly so we don't do it. the people that have gone to Karl or Carl (i suck at spelling) have all been happy with his work so we keep recommending him.

I would also talk to Ralph. He builds all my personal engines and my customer's as well. If you would like I also have a wrx trans with 50+k on it that i can swap.

Whatever you do I wouldnt goto Larry H Miller Subaru I was completely unsatisfied when they put in a new engine for me. The new engine rattles against the downpipe and has had a few problems such as spark plugs foul up within the first three months and when I went back to check each time they were no help and could not fix my problems. Last but not least the used engine they put in my suby cost me 4600 bucks which if I would have gone to solid autoworks from what I hear I could have saved a ton.
