Default Sub Box, 2x10" Subs and 400W Amp - Designed to fit GC trunk. (prefer TX local)

SOLD

Update Feb 11 2012 - Box&Speakers FREE. No amp.
I've removed the amp to sell by it self. The box and speakers are not FREE. One of the speakers has a tear, so it's really only for the box and 1 speaker. But, free none the less!!

as of June 26th 2011 - Officially Back up for Sale!!

Well, in my quest to make my car as fast as possible at the AutoX track, I've now decided to trim more weight. I'm selling my Sub Box, Subs and Amp. What makes this a little different is that the Sub box was designed and build to fit as tight into a GC trunk as possible. Thus, leaving the maximum amount of trunk space possible. The system is still in my car, so you can still here how it sounds.

The box is designed with 2 separate sealed sections for each sub. The volume of each area is has been calculated to be the ideal volume for these subs in a sealed enclosure. I prefer sound systems for quality over quantity. This sub setup will not peel paint, nor punch out windows. I went for quality of sound first. But, trust me, it puts out a decent thump.

Due to the size and weight of the box, I really prefer to sell this local.
So, if you are in or around the San Antonio TX area, fire me a PM!!

What you get:
 • Sub Box designed specifically for a GC/GM trunk. Might even be a good fit for a wagon? Made from 3/4" (or was it 1/2"?) MDF and silicone sealed.
 • 2x 10" Orion Subs. These are old, but still work fantastic. They were top of the line in their day. I just wish I wrote down the model numbers!
 • 1x Diamond Audio D3 400.2 Amp. 400W 2-channel. These sell new for around $150 on ebay. It's the lower of the 2 amps in the photo.
 • The upper installation cross bar (see back view photo below)
 • A short piece (about 2 feet) of blue ground wire.
 • Speaker wiring is internal, and thus will be included.
 • Some extra box covering (carpet) to fill the opening in the upper amp cable hole. I have plenty of this stuff, so don't sweat it.

What you don't get:
 • The upper (in the photo) amp. It's the 4 channel amp I use for the remaining speakers.
 • The red power wire. It's connected to both amps.
 • The 4 long bolts I used to bolt it in. they were only a couple of dollars at Lowes anyway.

What you'll need:
 • A head unit with a pair of RC outputs to feed the amp
 • 12v power source, and power cable
 • 4 long bolts to mount it (the box has the nuts built into it)

How Much?
That's the question now is... How much? As it sits, I'm not really sure what it's worth. Supply and Demand right? I'm pretty much leaving this open to reasonable offers. But, lets' assume for a moment that the amp is worth $100, the box is worth $80, and the speakers are worth $100. I guess $200 sounds like a good starting point/price?

Photos:
Here is a link to all the photos I currently have of the system
All Sub Box Photos

- The completed box before install

- The back of the completed box

- The box, speakers and both amps installed. As you can see, it's a nice tight and efficient fit.

Nope... Pretty sure it won't. Don't quote me on that though.

For us non-audio people...
what do you think install on something like that would run?

I don't know if I'll be able to go w/o the 8" under seat 'subs' -- they sound soooo good =\

I wish I could tell you, but I'm pretty much a 100% DIY kinda guy. So, I really have no idea what it would cost to have it installed. Sorry.

I kinda wish there was room under my seat for a decent 8". I've heard those under-seat subs, and they are really pretty good!

Bump... this is now officially back up for sale!!
In fact, it's currently removed from my car.

p.s. to any mods reading this.. for some reason when I changed the main post title, it didn't seem to affect the thread title.
I could have swore there was a place to change the thread title.
If not, could someone change the thread title to
"Sub Box, 2x10" Subs and 400W Amp - Designed to fit GC trunk. (prefer TX local)"

Thanks
