Default Can I use EJ25 Oil Filters on a EJ20?

As the title asks, can I use EJ25 Oil Filters on a EJ20? I was given a few extra STi filters but have a WRX. Couldn't find the answer on here yet, so how about it?

I'm 99.999% sure that all of the OEM 'turbo' oil filters are the same, so I say go for it.

Yes, the 2.5L filters are smaller than the 2.0L filters. The opposite is not true, you can't use 2.0L filters (as they were originally spec-ed....ie Purolator 14460 sized filters) on the 2.5L due to header clearance.

The thread spec and gasket diameter are the same for both, just can size difference.
