Default Red Flag: Ferrari crafts a dozen 599 HGTE specials for China

To mark that relationship, Ferrari has announced a special edition exclusively for the Chinese market.

Based on the 599 GTB Fiorano with the company's new Handling GTE package, the China Limited Edition has been updated with special touches designed by Chinese artist Lu Hao: the starter button glows jade green, the tachometer features ancient Chinese characters instead of the usual numerals, and the luggage is emblazoned with a map of the Silk Road taken by the famous Italian explorer Marco Polo. The Rosso Fuoco paintjob with the gray roof mimics the 599XX, and only a dozen examples will be made with over a billion people in the market, we're betting they'll be snapped up fast. Check it out in the high-res image gallery below.

Having ancient chinese characters doesn't seem very fitting inside a car like this though. And silk road emblazoned bag? You might as well put in some gunpowder, some paper, a compass and some prints to finish off the package.

They should have just made it black and painted a huge red star on the side panels and have the 5 pointed star rims.

Interesting....Not sure what to make of the car to be honest... Not even sure if it will be as desirable as they are thinking... I know I wouldn't bother with it personally.. If I were in the market, that is...

No kidding...

Since they're communist, everyone gets one, right? 90% of people ride around on scooters and rickety old bicycles, 9.9% get a cheapo car (hot damn!), and .1% in their A6s and Ferraris... Communist, my butt. Most capitalistic communism I've ever seen.

The second pic looks Corvette-ish to me too.

As for the tach, are you suppose to pray when the needle hits the cross symbol (10)?

looks like it's about 6,000 rpm, so yeah.
If you've ever heard a ferrari at 6,000rpm, I'd deffinetly say you've made it to sexy time.
