Default Black market for pain pills

I was in a motorcycle accident in August. Broke my collar boke and got some road rash through my jeans (thankfully I was wearing my jacket). I was in a sling for a month then it was decided that I needed surgery to fix it. A plate and seven screws later, I'm in the sling for atleast another month.

Since Ive been in my sling I have had numerous people ask what pain meds I was on and if I had any left. Had people ask if I want to sell them or if they could have them. Just for gp I asked my girlfriend (a nurse) what they were worth. Apparently they can bring $15-$20 PER PILL! I was given oxycodine when I had the accident and Percacet after the surgery. I only needed them for the first two days then I switched to ibuprofen.

I can't believe how many people want these things. I was in Walmart over the weekend and some random guy asked what happened then asked me to sell some pills. WTF? Are these things that addictive? Do they get you high? All they did for me was take the edge off and make me feel sick to my stomach. Still felt the pain.

I would NEVER sell prescription drugs, btw. But, damn at $15 a pop its tempting. Except the whole felony thing.

Is this as big of a problem as it seems?

do it. the jail term for selling prescription drugs is DEFINITELY worth the $200-300 you could get for the whole bottle.

Nope, just never knew there was such an apparently large market for such things. I have a speeding ticket to pay for next week. You think if I went in and dropped a dozen pills on the counter they would except them as payment?

My supervisor at my last job thought that it was a good idea for his dad, the cancer patient, to send him the percocets that he wasn't taking, then he would sell them...

...AT WORK!

I suggested that that might not be such a good idea, to which he responded "what? They're in my name". Because his dad is named Joe Blow, and he's Joe Blow Jr. I pointed out that selling them to someone else is against the law even if they were his prescription.

He didn't understand that all of the legalities aside, the owner may not appreciate it all that much either.

What a moran.

make sure you bring them in without the prescription bottle.. I'm sure they'll love it!

and then they'll put you straight into cuffs and into session 1 for your arraignment

A couple different friends of mine get all excited when they find an old pain pill leftover. They hoard them and get giddy when it's time to take it.

I agree with the WTF. I don't get it.

I have noticed this too. I think it makes them feel "cool" or edgy or "in the know" to get the hookup.

Dumb.

morphine is the only fun one for me.

But yeah $20 a pill is about the going price for anything with some kick. If you get really into it you can make enough $$$ to pay rent, but that's not much in the black market world.

Oxycodone is more addictive than heroin. Both are opiates. So yea, people really like them. Had a buddy that did them all the time, they really start to become dependant upon them. Plus you would be suprised how many people you run into in a day that are addicted to pills, its some outragous number of people.

Yeah, it's a real problem.

My girlfriend works in a pharmacy and I bet they have 5-6 people a day who come in that they know just sell their prescriptions. These people doctor shop until they can find someone that will give them a prescription for whatever they want. They report everyone they can, that or they'll tell them they don't have what they're looking for.

It's not just skeevie street corner thugs that do it either, I'd say that 80% are upper middle class people that sell pills.

Ugh... go educate yourself on google... Are you serious? You had no idea that this entire country has a pain killer addiction problem? If you do sell them, please let me know so I can come down to High Point and kick your face in.

PS. They do nothing to you because they are working as intended to mask the pain, without any pain they will **** you up

I knew it was a problem. Just not such a problem that random people in the store will ask to buy them. And again, I would NEVER sell them. Just was wanting to see what others experiences were on the subject.

I have bursitis in my right shoulder. I'm a blue collar worker (glassblower[pipemaker]) and it really affects my work to the point I hate working and my work get sloppy because I just want to get this bib bubbler finished and call it a day.

At first I was getting black market pills. Norco (10mg hydrocodone/325mgAPAP) are ~$4 a pop with a price break at 10 pills. Oxy(extended release)/Roxy(instant release) is about on average $1/mg. I didn't pay that.

Now I get my pain meds from a pain management clinic.

And yes pain pill addiction is a problem in this country, if not every 3rd world country.

Don't sell yours. Keep them in your medicine cabinet. Doctors are very hesitant to write triplicate 'scripts. Oxycodone is a triplicate.

Diane Sawyer did a 20/20 special on eastern Kentucky. Illicit pain meds are supposedly a big problem there.

Buddies brother finally OD's on OC's. Its just pharmacutical heroin put into a nice tiny pill. You will find alot of people just start buying tar due to it being more cost effective
