Default Fairbanks Ice Track/talidega!

Hope everyone is stoked for this season on the ice track, there are going to be a new track set up this year one more suitable for cars and head to head racing. Hopefully we can get more people out there this year than last year... and this year we are planning to turn another pit into a talidega track. high speed and long corners.. i hopeing for 70-80 top speed and over 200+ft of possible drift. We are always looking for new people to come out. and new ideas so if anyone has any questions or comments about the Airport ice track or the new pegar ice track repost

good to finally hear something good about it. everything i have been hearing is that they arent going to do it this year. it will be nice to have it big enough for cars. last year is was a bit to tight even for my coupe.

Well the guy that maintained the track last year is still planning to keep it groomed but he just like everyone has other stuff to do but I plan to assist him on building and keepin the track maintained, also I'm workin on the talidega track which hopefully will turn out to be fun, fastest I've clocked a car on the airport track back streight away ways 68 mph, and it was stetchy. But this should be alot larger and faster. And I would like to run head to head races and time trails. Mostly all for talk I guess but head to head side bets are encuraged. Lol I'm also collecting funds for track maintence. Nudge nudge

I got up to 75 or 80 a few times. Also got stuck a few as well. It was pretty sweet last year, could have had wider track and maybe less distance as a course-- it was pretty fun though.

I need to stop ripping on the winter tires lol

Good luck on getting Danny to plow a track for cars....or to get him to plow the track worth a **** at all...he's been doing it for years, and as far as I am concerned someone else needs to take over.

I went out there once late last year and the track sucked...on a quad and in my car. Sorry...but drugs and plowing a race track don't mix...

Anyways man I hope your idea goes through. It would be awesome to get something together and have some races out there. Its a blast when its warm out like in late march and what not.

I gotta post some pictures from the past out at cushman...Isaac you should remember this quad

Ahh yes the good ol days

I agree last years blew but I don't have a 4wheeler and I rather drive a car, that's why I built a plow truckbecause that makes everywhere somewhere to rip. I have plans for south lathorip and airports ponds, if they fall threw I'll move somewhere else. Don't plan on much stopping me from having fun this year I spent all summer buildin a car from a recked car to a rally car, as far as rules and regs, this is just friends having fun, no sign up bs just show and if u wanna throw some cash on the track for a head to head or fastest lap that's even better, but I figure most fri, sat, sun every weekend, I would aslo get some back country rallies set up I kno some good back rds that we could rally down. I would love to get a auto cross track built but I don't have the clout alone to set it up yet but if anyone has any idea that could make this winter routy speak up it's ur guys play ground too .

Default Tracks Cleared But caution!

Looks like danny came out and plowed the track before i could get to it, Its a little bit like last year but with a few wider turns i havnt tested it out yet because there was major over flow by the enterence, But give it a few more nice cold weeks and we'll be ripping in no time, Also i havnt plowed the south lathrop pond yet becuase i didnt want to deal with over flow issues, but just wait it will be fun.

i did a quick hot lap on it and its pretty nice. its not nearly as long but there is enough room to get sideways this year. i was in my obs and didnt know the track so i took it easy. it needs to get a little more solid before i go out on it again. lol

Oh are you talking about where you drive behind the air field and then take a right down that one road?

I always take the mitchell exp. like your headed to the airport...and just take a left at the university light...go down about 3 miles, and at the end of the run way you make a left...go down the road and you will come to the dyke. Hang a left at the dyke and go down 1/2 mile or so, and the ice track will be to your left.
