bought it as a beater. developed a "mysterious" parasitic electrical problem that killed the battery every couple days. tried everything short of replacing the entire electrical system. oil leak, etc. donated it to a charity.

93 Nissan Quest. Was a hand-me-down from my aunt who went semi blind and got her license taken away. The thing was busted up and even after an alignment they couldn't make it drive straight because she ran into so much ****. I still have it and drive it every now and then when I don't want to put miles on it. The exhaust recently rusted and fell off while I was driving sometime in the last month.

Forester

2000 Dodge Durango.
Bought it in 2002 with 33,000 miles on it,was in perfect condition.
Transmission went at 47,000 miles, dodge said it's over 36k and your the second owner so it's your problem.
Had it rebuilt at a dodge dealer here in town,12 month 12k warranty,$2200.
14 months later it went again while in W.V.
Had dealer there put a factory re-man in it (w/a 3year/80,000mi warranty),$2700.

$5000 in trans work in less than two years.

It's paid for buy this time so I figure might as well keep it.
Gas goes thru the roof so I start looking for something that gets better millage but will make it up the driveway in W.V.
Test drove a couple of Subaru's.
Two days later I get back from the store and the dodge is puking coolant from what appears to be the water pump.
Put in a new water pump, still doing it.
Hose runs to the pump from intake that you can't see without taking mounts for AC and alt, remove mounts, hose split, replace.
Still leaking.
Rode up to parts store and got a can off alumaseal, leak stopped, traded it in that night on a new 2008 Forester.

Will NEVER own another dodge again.

/agree to the above.

I got a 2010 WRX, and guess what, Im only 20. Guess what else, I have busted my ass to make a 10,000 dollar down payment on this thing and bust my ass 40 hours a week plus school to afford keeping it.

Crappiest vehicle I have owned...1999 F-150 with a lift and big tires. Came with what I thought was a nice stereo system in it til I blew 5 outta 6 speakers and 3 alternators. Tore into the truck to find the speakers wired in with phone wire, and the power chord that went to the amp looked like it was cut from the Golden Gate bridge.

Then I bought a salvaged 04 wrx, that ran amazing, and now Im onto my 2010.

Its a tie between my rust bucket 82 brat (had numerous cancer and clutch issues)

and my first EA82T

Bought it not running, had a new engine put in it, blew the head gaskets on that, resealed it, blew numerous hoses, managed to sell it for $1900 and it shortly blew up on the new owner I think

'88 Subaru Justy. I bought it for $20, rallied the hell out of it and blew the engine...at which point I sold it for $50.

...150% profit on a car that I blew up.

WIN.

My sister's broken down 89' Dodge Daytona. Worked all summer at Busch Gardens to get it running and had to refill the tranny case every week or I couldn't go over 20mph. I also discovered a fuel line was loose when I kept smelling fuel and saw the hose dumping fuel in my engine bay! Total p**sy wagon

I learned how to drive a manual with it when I bought it 40 miles from my house and had to get it home. My clutch cable pulled through the fire wall so I rigged it up with a pair of vise grips. Both window cranks were vise grips. I had both CV joints go out at the same time while making a turn at a cop directed intersection ( and he laughed at me ). I had no floor on the drivers side so my feet had to be on the pedals at all times. While making a turn my muffler flew off and I just kept going ( embarrassed ). I had a hole in the firewall that would spew hot air from the engine compartment right acrossed my right shin. Made a trip about 80 miles and from the heat it actually burnt my leg to the point of causing two blisters the size of halfed golfballs on my shin. The horn started going off one day while I was in work and wouldn't stop so I went out with a hammer and beat the hell out of it until it stopped. On my way home from work one day I started to smell something burning. After looking all around inside I noticed the right fender starting to bubble and smoke and then flames. I put the pedal to the floor and drove it straight to a dealership and bought a new car. Thank god the fire went out before I got there. They offered me $100 for it, so I took it and my three pairs of visegrips and off I went in my next disaster.
If that's really true, this thread has peaked and should be locked.

My worst car was a 1987 Conquest TSI broke down once a week, ran so rich it would burn your eyes if you stood in back of it despite doing a tune up.Replace engine once, trans x2, rear end once and so many vacum lines and sensors. But I will say when it was running it was fun. Finally killed it when fuel line broke on the way home from work carbeque. That sucker burned up faster that drift wood

My top 3 in order...

1997 Pontiac Sunfire...2 engines later.
1994 VW Golf...blown struts, plenty of rust, and 180,000 miles...rear ended a King Ranch F350 2 weeks after I got it. Replaced with just as bad 96 VW Jetta
1990 240sx...rear struts were blown, and I had to push start it everywhere I went. Funniest thing seeing me in my then Starbucks uniform pushing my car back and forth in the parking lot trying to start it
