My first car was probably the worst car ever. It was a 1983 chevy cavalier with a 2.0L "Iron Duke" engine. It was 5 different colors, had the wrong springs in the rear, so it sagged. It caught on fire twice b/c it sometimes backfire through the throttle body, catching the oil soaked hood insulation on fire. The brakes went out, not once, but twice. The second time the brakes went out, I bumped the front door of a 7-11. Oh, and it had to be started by using a screw driver to jump the terminals on the starter.

It was my dads old car, and he refused to buy something new, so he sunk a bunch of money into it. The motor made so much noise, that when we finally pulled the motor to find out what it was, the connecting rods had like 1/4" clearance.

It was was a complete pile. I'm so glad I learned my lessons with that car...

2000 Honda Civic Coupe. Bought for a $4,000 as DD to save on gas before I had the STi. Seller told me that the car had a valid state inspection and had no issues. Took the car to my shop to have it looked over after I bought it and it had an illegal inspection sticker (the seller took the sticker off an 89 Honda Civic and stuck it on) and had almost $4,000 of issues.

Luckily I called the guy and got my money back and he took the car back.

Worst car has to be the '80 Toyota Corolla I bought from my brother for $1. I delivered pizzas in it until it finally died.

Lol I had a 92 shadow 3.0L 5 speed convertible. It was super reliable too actualy. Only reason i got rid of mine was we put a top on but the seals were still bad (almost 1000 to replace the seals) and i was sick of it leaking all summer and snow on the seat in the winter.

Sold that for my official crappiest car. 96 grand prix 4 door. Grandparents bought it new, sold it to my mom. When i was 17 (still moms car) i spun a rod bearing in it. We put a motor in it then i bought it when i was 19. Blew the headgaskets. Sold it for my subi and it was the best upgrade ever!

1987 Pontiac Sunfire.

My brother had an early-mid 80s Dodge Omni. It might have been the Plymouth Horizon, but I seem to remember the Omni badge.

I know this is a subaru forum, but the worst car I ever owned was a 2004 subaru wrx. The handling sucked, rear windows did not go down all the way, and the interior was disgusting.

Holy crap I had an '81. Absolute POS that broke so much stuff. Still has a place in my heart though. Had some issue with the throttle body that made it to where I had to damn near floor it every time I took off from a stop or it would die. Went through 2 of the immensely horrible 2.8 V6. Interior was blue and falling apart, leaky aftermarket sunroof that I filled the rust holes with spray foam and silicone, several shades of primer and rust, little bit of original paint. But surprisingly the power windows and locks always worked...

So many kids here talking about their 99 this and 01 that... man I was out of high school for a while by the time those cars were BRAND NEW! lol!

1986 Plymouth Reliant station wagon. I got it off my Grandpop for $200 and ran it into a tree about 2 months later.

It didn't do over 75 mph and was a dog going up hills. The '90 Integra LS I got to replace it wasn't much better...

1976 mercedes 280- green on green on green on green. The only thing in the car that wasn't green was the dash! pulled to the left when I hit the gas (which was often because it weighed 6200 lbs and was powered by a 110 hp MONSTER!)
Pulled to the right when I applied the brakes. Every time I had more than $50 (every 2 weeks on payday) something would break on it.
It REFUSED to down shift, ever. It had a rod knock that was bad enough to prompt the question 'is that a diesel' often while running. Drove it for 2 years without ever dying (somehow). Stereo fell out of the dash on the on ramp by my house (sweeping downhill 270 degree turn) every time.

Ditched it for the 'more reliable' moms old minivan. 1989 dodge caravan. White with red interior. Second crappiest vehicle ever. Had for 2 years. overheated twice, blew a brake line in a panic stop ucker:, flew into a ditch while rallying down a dirt road way too fast, had many flat tires, got pulled over ONCE for a dead headlight in 2 years of driving it like I stole it. It made it from Bellingham (90 miles north of seattle) to portland in 3 hours and 15 minutes once. (5 hour drive at the speed limit)

Got into the mercedes to grab some stuff out of it while selling it, got hit with the smell of old car and said out loud 'I miss this car.' instantly, the door shut and the drivers side mirror fell off the car and broke on the ground.
Then, bought a 1979 dodge aspen wagon, brown on brown on brown for $225 and drove it for a year and a half before the trans went out in the biggest cloud of smoke I have ever seen without a fire. I left it on the side of the road and that was that.

I have had 15 cars, 4 motorcycles and am currently 30. not to shabby

I had a 91 Civic Si that was a pile of rust and burned more oil than gas. It handled like a beast though. When I put some decent sport tires on, it hands-down handled better than my WRX. You could take an off ramp at highway speed and it didn't care.

It stared burning too much oil about the same time I got a real job. I sold it for $400 with a new battery, tires, alternator, plugs, wires, exhaust (replaced due to necessity), timing belt, oil pump, and god know what else. I got jacked pretty bad on that sale.

2000 Chevy Cavalier, bought it two weeks after I got my license, wasn't all that bad of a car until I was about to drive home (25+ kms on the highway) in the middle of winter (-25 C or colder) and the driver's door latch froze shut when the door was open so I had to hold it shut the whole way home. I was astounded at the amount of snow that got sucked in the ~1 inch gap and deposited itself on the footwell... Sold that and had a 2005 Toyota Echo RS (absolutely awesome car) then gave that to my mom and bought an 05 Legacy GT which I am in the process of selling as I bought an 03 wrx. I'm 20 now and am on my fourth car, one for each year of having my license

89 mustang GT that a "mechanic" owned before me.. Found out one reason why it ran rough, it must have been dropped off a flatbed because the car was creased across the midsection and the fuel lines were pinched off lol.. so bad that when I pulled the carpet I could see through the rocker panels where the floor boards met !

I can't begin to explain the problem I had while I drove the car for 3 months.. I bought it for the engine / trans / rear end , doors and sunroof but decided to drive it for a little bit..

I've had quite a few lemons.. the newest was an '02 ranger 3.0L ext. cab. that would ALWAYS stall out after every drive on the freeway... 76k miles on it.. Never found that problem so I traded it in on the Dodge Ram.

This is what I ended up doing with it.. My association loves me!!
