1984 mustang gt350. would stall randomly everytime the engine got wet. t-tops leaked like crazy. transmission blew 2 times. rear brakes would lock up going from reverse to drive. had terrible 390 mm tires that were only made my michelin and cost 180 each. driver side seat broke out of the floor. had a 8 track player radio. thats taking it back to 1990 and senior year high school!!

My worst was also kinda my best. Just because of how much fun I had in it.
1994 Chevy Cavalier. 2.2. Automatic, 2door. I bought it off a friend of mine after we crashed it into a guide wire of a hydropole and into a field on some backroad late at night. We fixed it together. Cost me $200 all in. I drove the car for 2 years then did this too it and sold it to a wreckers for $150. So It only cost me $50 and my dignity.

99 Saturn SL2. It was a beater car. After a year of having it it shook like crazy at 50+ mph and the driver side power window stopped working so I had to tape it shut. Bought it for 1k and sold it for 500. Not a bad price for a "renting" it for a year or so.

Coolest thing about it was it had a shift light lol.

Thanks. I'll let her know! She is pretty awesome.
We made 18 passes before the front shock mount blew apart. Made 4 more passes after that before something in the tranny shattered. Then I put a brick on the throttle pedal till the motor blew up.

This is really, really embarrassing, but I owned 2 of the worst...*gulp*...here goes:

A 1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula.

A 1986 Chysler Laser Turbo.

****While both being reasonably cool cars way back when, both were mechanical nightmares. Ask my poor stepdad who paid for the repairs on both.

My first car was a 4-door Toyota Tercel, 2 tone rust on purpleish silver. It was manual everything, save the steering, and the shocks were super jacked. I liked to think of the ride experience as urban off-roading.

Toyota 4runner 4cyl. ( yeah 4cyl.) Any way it was passed on to me from my sister in law who got it brand new in 2000. For the first 2 - 3 years she never did a maintenance on it. Also ended up putting almost 100k miles in the first 3 years. It was leased so her parents had no choice but to keep it. Then I take over it after she got fed up with having to deal with the gas on it. So of course here come the problems......First the u joint on the drive shaft just breaks. Luckily it had a brace that held the drive shaft from dropping to the ground. Then the muffler just fell out. Countless fluid changes and filter changes, full engine reconditioning. Also me and my wife got stuck with having to finish paying it off. Nevertheless, I put all that money into it plus finished paying the 12k left on it. More problems started after it was paid off. The alarm who'd come on even though the alarm hadn't been operational for many many years. We would just lock the car manually. It would disable the vehicle so I couldn't get into it, or turn it on. The alarm siren would even come on while I was driving, not at full blast thank god, but at a low volume. lmfao!
I ended up trading it in in 2008 for a 2009 lancer gts. The afternoon I drop off the 4 runner to them. I leave it in their parking lot, hand over the keys to the two salesman standing out front and go home. The next day the salesman and the mechanic call me to ask me if the 4runner had a kill switch because the car wouldn't turn on...LOL! I told them listen so and so saw me drive the car there and I handed them the keys. Unfortunately, all the paper work has been done and that's ur car now not mine, not my problem. Bye bye!

It served it's purpose for the time I had it. It was a headache and it would burn holes in m our pockets.

Love Fieros personally. No shame there.

My worst was an 87 Golf. Horn stuck on at times. Once a coworker was being 'funny' and nudged it with his little Nissan pickup in the parking lot. Bumper just fell off. 10pm what can I do but throw it in the car and fix it later. Way home same night I get pulled over for speeding or something stupid. Cop asked what the deal with the bumper was. I think I just told him it 'fell off'. The car was so rough it was a believable story I'm sure. It was like a day or two before Christmas, he gave me a warning.

Good times.

didn't own it but my first DD was a 94 f-150, this truck's basically me in car form. My parents got it within 2 months of me being born and its been a staple in the family ever since. I loved driving it and still do but it has some problems.
First off it was rear-ended by a drunk driver in a suburban at 40mph, and its bed was pushed under the cab. When they straightened the frame back they obviously couldn't get it back to original so the doors don't shut tight. They make a howling noise at anything over 60. Also if you roll the windows all the way down you can't get them back up without a pair of pliers, if you turned the wheel all the way without giving it gas it'll stall (made parking in a tight spot a real PITA), the wipers were worthless in anything past a drizzle, and the brakes were useless in anything past normal braking situations.

I loved it when I drove, and still it has a nostalgic feeling about it, but it can't compare to my Subaru. It's a lot to read, I know, but there are a lot of memories.

The Laser Turbo was the same as the Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. I had an 86 turbo Z with the Carroll Shelby package in Laser Red and T tops. 146hp/146#ft non-intercooled turbo 4. First car I tracked. I bought it brand new. Probably the first car that I should have kept instead of selling it when I did.

1991 oldmosbile cutlass cierra, was my first car. Sold it 16 months later for my parents 1990 honda accord. Owned the accord for a couple of years, then bought a 2001 prelude. Had the prelude for 10 months before I traded it in for my 2004 WRX. I have never looked back since.

1987 Dodge Shadow.
I bought it when I was 17 for $700. It had a salvaged title, a huge dent on the rear bumper and twisted motor mounts. The radiator had a thermostat problem which never triggered the fans to activate, leading to chronic overheating. Because of the motor mounts, the entire cabin would vibrate anytime I exceeded 2k rpms. The power steering was so overboosted, I could make the entire 2.5 hour drive from college to home using only my pinky finger. The only plus, was that it was a notchback with folding rear seats, which was very handy for spending the night in the car.

2000 mitsubishi mirage. when i went on a streak of crashing 2 cars in a week, this was the second one. the thing was a champ though. i rear-ended someone but only the passenger front corner was messed up so me and my dad picked up an unpainted OEM hood and fender and bent back the top on the frame. The thing ran for another couple of years and was definitely the worst car in my high school lot. A red mirage with paint peeling off everywhere with a black hood and right fender next to all the regular 'burb kid's 3-series, c-classes, is300's, and 350's. then my brother crashed it haha. good thing my mom works for our insurance provider!
