The clutch slipped like no tomorrow, merging onto a highway was murder. Window seal leaked and driving was like skydiving with so much wind noise. Front bumper was hanging on by a piece of thin plastic cord. More dents and scratches than ever. But it was a fun shaggin' wagon for a while.

I've had 3 super crappy cars that I can think of. My 1st car was a '80 Chevy Caprice Classic coupe with a 305 4-barrel. It had a rebuilt engine with only 30K on the rebuild, and it ran like a champ. BUT... The guy I bought it off of was a friend of mine and a raging alcoholic. That car was involved in 3 crashes with cars, and 2 crashes with houses before I got it. I got it for $175 and it literally didn't have a straight piece of metal on it. My nickname, back in high school, was "Conan" and my friend spray painted it onto the whole driver's side of the car. I gave it a "Gorilla Monsoon" wrestling figure for a hood ornament. The best "feature" of that car was its "cigarette snuffers". 2 holes burned into the middle of the front bench seat for people to extinguish their cigarettes. I drove that car all the way to Panama City Beach, Florida, for spring break, with 5 other people in it and all their luggage. Got in a wreck on the way down there and shattered the plastic grill which supported the headlights. So we stopped off at a hardware store and duck taped a 2x4 to the front bumper so the headlights would stay up. By the fifth day in Florida, it was one of the most popular cars cruising the strip at night. Eventually broke the tranny trying to show a buddy how surprisingly "fast" the car was. lol

2nd car was a '80 Datsun 200SX; my first stick. The guy I bought it from told me upfront that it had NO brakes. No exaggeration, it would take more than 300 feet to slow down from 40 mph. I delivered pizza in it for a week before I could afford the brake repairs. When I finally took it in to the shop, to get fixed, the mechanic brought me out to the car and snapped 2 of my brake rotors in half with a pair of dikes. Only the left front corner had pads left. Slid that car into a curb at 10 mph, during a winter sleet storm, and it was so rusty that everything bent on it.

3rd car was a '79 Pontiac Firebird with a POS 301 2-barrel. The choke didn't work on it, so every morning, in the winter, I would tape the choke closed until the engine was warm. But worse than that, it had some kind of starter heat-soak problem. If I shut the engine off, after driving awhile, it wouldn't start up again because the starter would crank to slow and sound very erratic. I'd either wait for the starter to cool down (45 mins?), or find a cup of water and throw it on the starter. I finally blew the engine while doing a burnout.

Sorry for the encyclopedic post, but with the crap I've owned I felt it was necessary.

Worst car ever 91' VW Jetta. After a while I used to start it by using an electrical cord and touching it to the starter. Worst car. People used to call it the the "crip killer", because it was all red.
