Ford Researching "Missile Guidance Technology" To Improve Auto Safety

The stunning announcement said that global positioning system satellites could monitor a vehicle's motion and communicate with in-car safety systems to prevent accidents.

The research, by Ford and Auburn University, is "moving into the prototype phase," said the automaker. No word yet on how much this technology will add to the bottom line for consumers or when it will be available.

I think I'd rather have anti-missile technology.

I think a Phalanx CIWS dome mounted on the roof would look pimp.

That's only feasible if gas stations also sold 4500 RPM ammo drums with armor-piercing tungsten penetrator rounds. Which they may already do in the US...
