yeah recaro seats are the best!!!! I got one last year and my son loves sittin in it rather than the plastic cheapy ones. they are kinda pricy but well worth it!! they look awesome and they are the safest!! USA Baby sells them and I think might be one of the only store here in salt lake that does sell them.

LOL he texted me the same thing at the crack ass of dawn. When I got the text i pictured RJ, who we know is one pretty big guy, drifting a stroller in a hospital with this huge smile on his face making doorifto sounds. I lol'd.

Hey guys thank you so much for your love and support. We are still at LDS hospital. Crazy thing they lend out mini laptops with wifi specifically for facebook updating. So I couldn't get on Facebook and not shout out to my peeps. Especially when I ran into Asher in the lobby of LDS and told me about my thread!
will be continued battery running low getting another laptop!

Here is direct link of photo album if you happen to be my friend on

Ok I am back after some serious negotiating with the nurse that checks at the laptops. I asked her for the a/c adapter and she said they dont lend those out because you are only allowed the laptop for 4 hours, the life of the battery(sure!). I told her I just checked out the laptop and was only on it for no ore than an hour and fifteen minutes and she gave me a smug look like i was lieing to her.

I had to give her the keys to the widebody to borrow a laptop.

Anywho back on topic. Baby and Mom are both doing excellent. They are both currently chilling in thier hspital bed as i thread it up.

Hudson Rock Holland born October 14 2009 2:18 PM weighin in at 7lbs 12oz and 20 inches long.

Side note Ocotber 14 is also my wifes birthday aswell. Hudson was 5 days late from original due date. I joke with anyone willing to listen to my corney jokes that Hudson and I were having a chat on the 13th while Marti was asleep. I expressed to him my concerns of having problems finding the perfect gift for his mom. He said, "Don't worry Dad,I have an idea!"

So Marti started having contractions at 11:00PM October 13th. About 3:00am on the 14th they were about 3 to 4 minutes aprat and we decided to pack up and head to the hospital. Altough we weren't in a rush I did run three redlights on 600s just because I wanted to see if we would get pulled over and i could use the whole my wife is in labor story.

Marti did a fantastic job. We attended Bradley classes to prepare us as a team what to expect having an all natural child birth. I even got an official coach's card. She was progressing nicely going from 4cm to 6cm in matter of 45 minutes and then 6 to 8 cm shortly after. After that progression came to a stand still. Som emuch so that contractions werent strong and she ceased to increase in dilation. In fact at one point she made it to 9cm and the decreased back to almost an 8.

A few hours went by and then it got scary. Baby's heart rate plumented to less than 50 beats per minute. What was a room of one nurse turned into a room of 6+ nurses and 2 doctors prepping her for emergency C section. All this going on and no one coul inform me. I was downstairs with my mom due to the rather lame 2 visitor minimum to patients and Marti's mom and sister were in there and phone service was intermittent. They finally readhed me and I ran to a room here a doctor threw me scrubs and told me to follow him to operation room. Needless to say I am extremely paniced and a nervous wreck. All I heard people say is the baby is in serious distress. Moments went by it felt like years. I wasn't sure if this day which started so magical would end the same way.

The doctors worked quickly and precisely. Next thing I know there is a little purple body being brought out of the incision. A separate team begins cleaning and examining him as tey continue to reinsert all my wife's vital organs.

I sit there tears in my eyes waiting for any ign from either team letting me know that my wife and baby would be fine. Then I got the answer Baby team : thumbs up; Mommas team : thumbs up.

For those who have already expierenced you know the amazing feeling it is to have this little human half you and half your favorite person in the world look at you with those little eyes instilling all that faith and hope into you as their protector and nurturer.

For those who haven't all I can say its one of the greatest feelings I have ever felt. My wife is still in recovery so I get the oppurtunity to spend alot more time with him than most dads do in the first 24 hours of his life.
While most dads here visit thier kids momentarily in the nursery, I chose to keep Hudson in my room with me at all times. When he needs to go get examined I take him instead of a nurse. I changed all his diapers and I was there for his first bath. I want to be the best care giver I can be and I want to be there as much as I possibly can. It is crazy with spending so much time with him already when he cries I can get him quiet in a single moment of picking him up and singing his name like I did to him while he was in the womb over the past 9 months.

Its simply amazing. Thanks for letting me express my feelings. I am currently going on 2 hours of sleep since tuesday. Iam tired but its amazing the energy i get from holding him and watching him through the night.

And with out further ado I give you Hudson Rock Holland:

Me at the end of the day while mommy and baby get well deserved sleep.
