Default 2010 Auris Facelift Revealed

Quote:
Toyota's Auris facelift has been revealed in Japan, and it is set to go on sale in the UK in the first half of 2010.
Changes are minor, and include revised grilles which differ in style according to trim level, new front and rear bumpers, headlamps, tail lights and alloy wheels plus a new bonnet design.

Interior changes include new color options, upgraded materials and improved standard equipment on some models.

Sales of the facelifted Toyota Auris will preceed the launch of the Auris hybrid, which will be built at the firm’s Burnaston plant in Derbyshire, with its engines being made at its Deeside plant in north Wales. It is set to go on sale next summer.

When the Auris hybrid was first confirmed earlier this year, Tadashi Arashima, Toyota’s European chief executive, said: “Our decision to produce a full hybrid in the UK reflects both our confidence in the quality and commitment of the Toyota UK workforce and the strength of our long-standing partnership with the UK government.

On a separate note, maybe Toyota can help Subaru with updating seats on the STi with a variation of these.

The Auris must be the perfect getaway car. You see it and 2 minutes later you don't remember what it looked like.

Donuts?? lol. Quite the opposite. Wish the latest STi had that kind of side bolstering/padding to hold my skinny butt in. If I was fat I would love the current STi seats. Now..... if only SOA would make the Recaro's standard with the BBS package.

You're smoking crack if you think those are better bolstered and would hold your skinny butt in better than the STI seats.

Maybe the 08' STi I test drove just didn't hold me in like my 05 STi, maybe the car i drove had a bad pair of seats . You sound like you are more than satisfied with the seats on your 08'.

02 seats > 05 seats > 08 seats

Let's face it people, unless you're a fatty Mcfatfat, Subaru seats after 03' just don't hold us in. I've tracked all my Subies (02wrx/04STi/06STi) and none had the ability to hold me. Thanks to the dead pedal, I was able to get around the track without falling out of the seat.

Yeah.. nobody in this thread said '08 seats were great.. just that the Auris seats aren't any better from the looks of them.

But.. since you went there.. all pre-'08 JDM STI seats > '02 WRX > '08 WRX/STI Seats > '04-07 WRX/STI Seats > GC USDM Seats. The '08 seats are softer in the center than the '04-'07 seats.. and the bolsters are reasonably firm... they actually hold me in pretty well where I slide around on top of the firm '04-'07 seats. 6'2" & 200lbs.

I'm probably wrong though, because everything about the '08s is inferior to the almighty GD

The really sad part is that even the 92-00 WRX in Euro and Asian markets had fantastic STI style seats.

As far as the 08s, it would have been nice for them to have bundled Recaros with the BBS wheel option. Otherwise, the BBS option is pretty hard to swallow. Of course, this would have probably required a 2nd set of crash testing, so I can understand, from a financial perspective, why they didn't do it. With all the complaints about the STI cost, I can see why they didn't make Recaros standard, either.

I really don't get these crappy seats, even my 1992 Celica has better seats than what you find in the standard spec Auris

Agree totally. I truly missed my 02 WRX seats in all of the subsequent WRXs and STIs that came along. My 07 WRX had quite a few desirable changes over my 02 WRX, but the seats were certainly not one of them.

GD seats with seat mod (pulling back springs) makes for a very nice change. You would all be surprised what 10 minutes of time can do in terms of holding you in better

GR (and GE/GH WRX) seats can be 'modded' in the same way.
