Default 1st time at Muffler City HORRIBLE service

Last week on the 5th of october my wife dropped off her tires to be restuded and was told BY THE MANAGER!! that it would take one day to get done and we would receive a phone call.

After the second day of them having it i went in to check on them and they said that I would get a phone call once they were done. 3 more days passed so i call (NOW THE 9th!). They couldnt find the receipt to find out the status and had me on hold for just under 10 minutes. They find it and say i will get a phone call once done.

Well yesterday I call it enough and give them another ring and OMG THEY ARE DONE! Its the 14th! I go in to pick them up and ask the manager why it took so long and he huffed and replied "I'm dealing with thousands of tires what do you want me to do about it?" OHHHH Boy wrong thing you want to say to a Puerto Rican already pissed off.

I kept my military bearing because I was in Uniform and replied "Dont tell people its going to take a day because we make appointments to have the tires put on and now i have to wait again." He replies "Well SOOORRY" and walks off.

See its not the fact that they took 9 days, its that they took 9 days told us it would take 1 day and never called me to let me know what was going on or to come pick them up. All it would have took to calm me down was to appologize and that it shouldnt have taken so long. I would have been content with that. I will never do business with that store again.

I was going to get some work done there once, but the atmosphere was immature. Same with American Tire. Thanks for the heads up.

Yup no problem. One of his employees had to appologize on his behalf which was terrible.

Well, another fine citizen of anchorage has seen the light. I have only gone over there if they were the LAST place in town, and thats only to get stuff like the properly sized wheel studs or something trivial. I am constantly talked down to when I go in, like a 15 year old girl that knows nothing about cars. Its really disconcerting.

Well I feel better that it wasnt just us but am sorry to those who have had problems with them as well. He almost got himself a piece of my mind. For those who know who I am imagine all 5ft 5inch 152 lbs of me flying over that counter hurling myself at him with all force LMAO!!!! Thats what i wanted to do. I just can't believe he had the audacity to be a jerk after he himself gave us bad information and failed to contact us.

i have had a bad experience there too. when i was down in atown for the 4th i got a bolt stuck in the sidewall of my tire. that was the closest tire store i could find. so i asked them for a quote for the tire and to get it mounted and balenced. i also forgot my tool for my lugs so i bought one of them so i could go get the wheel off of the car. once i got back to the car the tool broke while removing the lugs. so i went back to get another tool. once again the tool broke. so i went back again and he gave me 3 tools. it took all three of those tools to get all the lugs off. i was already stressed out from being scared of being stranded and having to leave my car in a place i dont know and the guy was being a complete ass. he was telling me i had no idea what i was doing. i am a tire tech for a living. the wheels were all tightened to 65 ft-lbs like subarus call for. then he made me carry the wheel and tire back to the shop. after 20 min of waiting while watching the kids screw around in the back they started on changing the tire. then i went to pay for the tire and it was 40 more then he quoted me. it cost me close to 300 for the 1 tire, all of the tools, and the labor. i was too heated to argue so i just paid and took my tire. worst experience with a buisness i have ever had.

They've always sucked, I don't know how they stay in business. I had such a headache and it was such a pain in the ass to return a part that they ordered for me which was wrong for my application back in the mid 90's. They swore up and down that they gave me the right part and it must fit and I was just trying to install it wrong. As if there's any question on where a moon visor bolts up to on an '89 Chevy? The problem was their nooby parts guy thought that any '89 Chevy truck was the same, they aren't. Big difference between '89 reg cab Chevy pickups and crew cabs. Finally got that old dick involved and drug his ass out to show him, that this part isn't for this truck. Then they wanted to credit me and order the part correctly, and then give me that one. By then though I'd had enough, and wanted my cash back, that was like pulling teeth too. Screw Muffler City.

sick exhausts... I wish I'd taken pictures of the hack jobs those guys have done.

Bird***** welds holding adapters going from 2 1/2" pipe to 4", 5" or even 6" tips. The owners are to blame as well, not only for having the idea but accepting such shoddy workmanship.

I had to fix a late '90's chevy that they 'lifted'. The only reason they lifted it was because the tires they sold the guy were rubbing, because they were too big for his truck. They're idea of 'solving' (and I use that term loosely) the problem was to crank the torsions all the way up. Owner returned with a complaint that his truck was making noise now going over bumps, and still rubbing. The noise was because the torsions were so tight that his control arms were hitting the crosmember. Their soulution was to 'notch' the crossmember. They did this with a very poorly excecuted cut with a torch, which they completely failed to clean up afterwords. All this was done without the permision of the owner. It came to me because the owner was tired of dealing with them, his truck rode and drove like crap, and the torsions were so over tightened that he had a ton of positive camber. And his truck was less than a year old.

Muffler *****y is full of a$$hats and I also don't knopw how they stay in buisness. The owner and his son (current owner I believe) have both been in jail, IIRC. At one point one of them was arrested, drunk and under the influence of some sort of drugs, for driving down a bike path and almost running someone over.

I could go on, that place really pisses me off.

i had them fix my hanger on my midpipe on my HKS on the wrx because it broke off at an autocross and they were the only ones open that could fix it that day and yes i do have to say the owners have no idea what they are talking about at all, the wleder was talking about beating some woman and getting drunk and high as soon as he left work
