A few of us on akic have forced a thread of great interest and fun for some to be closed. I am working with a mod on OT about arangements of an official akic OT thread. It will be open to flagging from some outside akic however some people had taken what was said in OT as far as publicly flagging people about things on akic and displaying action immature and out of line to anyone. I apologize to anyone who felt OT destroyed akic, so we'll take our activities elsewhere if everything is approved.

I don't really see what the issue was, but I didn't poke my head in the OT thread much anyway. Maybe I should have....then I wouldn't be clueless.

There was an amount of people who had no issues with it, others thougt we were using it as a chat room or social network taking it away from it's intended purpose. However it was titled off topic which ment. "off topic" and on a subaru forum that would mean anything not subaru related by definition.

However buracracy had gotten the longer side of the stick on the subject and shut it down.

Some of us also think this forum went to crap. Lot's of "Old School" members lurk now since most posts are over who's got "the best hair", losing sight of the purpose of this forum.

I don't want to see another OT thread opened cause the one that got closed was pointless. if you check the other chapters, they don't get an OT thread. we got one cause AKIC is a very tight knit group. At least it was. Most of us just don't see anything worth our while anymore. exactly as big sexy said... it seems all about the best hair, who got laid or who can't get a girl. thats not what AKIC as a whole is about.

Again, just waiting for the ban stick. Why do some people get it and others don't? We've all gone through learning processes but we eventually get it. What I see happening here is after 10 months, hose same OT mafia who like to overrun threads still haent figured "it" out thus the need to shut down the thread.

Perhaps the new breed doesn't care about the long term quality of the forum and group, however many of us do. Think of it as quality control. We need quality members with knowledge and experience as well as some of the usual banter. What's been happening is its all gone to banter and those with quality are sick of dealing with the immaturity the boards have become.

I liked having our own OT thread when it was actually used for its purpose to discuss non car related topics, no "oh I can't get a girlfriend boo!" And that crap. Perhaps it's us "old timers" who've finally put our foot down and said we're taking our forum back.

Not once was anything mentioned about anyone getting laid, it was just 20 year old guys talking. Frankly everyone on here was is or will a 20 and knows what it was like or an idea of how 20 year old guys act. It's no different from when my dad was 20 to when I was 20. But this will be moved out of akic. And judging by some other things that have happened here recently in public by some members along with a select few. I'm moving back to mwsoc chapter and staying out of akic. i,ve not nothing left to say.
