GT4 Time Attack Challenge - Fall of 2009

It's the Fall and time to dust off our PS2's for another GT4 challenge. This challenge will consist of three 2-week rounds with four cars/tracks per round (one car will be designated the "Wildcard" for each round and be worth double points).



The ground rules are simple:

-Two tires on the tarmac at all times. The curbs count as tarmac, as do cobblestones and concrete and pretty much anything that isn't grass, dirt or gravel. If you've got two tires on the dirt and two tires halfway on the dirt, your lap is no good. If you need any clarification at any point, just ask. Just want it to be fair and more importantly, the same for everyone.

-No contact with the walls/fences/barriers whatsoever unless a "mulligan" is specifically allowed. If you touch a wall, the lap is dirty and doesn't count.

-All laps will be done in Gran Turismo (simulation) mode, in the 5 cr. Practice session. **Save your ghost replay in case you ever need to defend your integrity.**

-Oil changes, wheel changes and car washes are always allowed

-NO NITROUS, EVER. Nuff said.

-Driver aids are up to you UNLESS specifically banned for a challenge. You also are free to change anything else that comes standard on a car (transmission mode, etc).

-Ballast changes are up to you.

-Post your times in this format: TIME/DRIVER/CAR

STANDARD CHALLENGE: Points will be awarded to the top 8 per the F1 scoring system

I can definitely do that! I'll try to work it in for the next challenge. I actually love the Autumn Ring. During my car selection process I pre-run all cars around that track in stock form and determine if they make my "standards" for inclusion in one of my GT4 challenges. Good track.

Sorry I missed you out there.

Sorry for the OT, but thought you guys might be interested in GT for the PSP? The opening movie is awesome. The game options are somewhat stripped down, and it loads a little slower due to the less powerful chip. Looks like most all the tracks are there. Overall pretty fun to able to take it with you!

Any idea how the times compare? When I do upgrade, I was planning on getting a PS3 and GT5 (whenever it comes out). GT for PSP sounds awesome though.

So far I'm slower due to the controls. Sony had some cool adds for it during yesterday's GP on Speed.

I'm waiting for GT5 before I get the PS3 too. I bought the PSP when GT was supposed to come out 5 years ago!

I might have to find my copy of GT4.. I only have a PS3, but it has the Emotion chip, so it can run GT4 with hardware emulation.

Wow. My Amuse S2K times are 19 seconds behind... holy crap.

Don't be afraid to post your times. In a multi-event challenge, you're better off posting any time for each car to score as many points as possible.

Make sure you've done the right mods, turn off all driver aids and drive the car aggressively. Even though you can't adjust downforce, that car's aero generates a bunch! Sticks like super glue in the turns.
