Impreza WRX STi FINALLY my finished product... almost

Well, I've finally got my '04, back out and running after what felt like an eternity. My build was completed last Friday, and with a couple of friends, and the shop on Ft. Richardson I spent a whole $27+food and beer at my house afterwards and got my engine into my car. Aside from the several Misfire codes and CEL's I got (thanks to an off-tune and much better cams) I took the car to Turbo Setch (Seth) and had it looked at. After finding that a hose clamp was missing on my "hot-air intake" was replaced and the tune was *cough* fixed... the car runs as good as new.. only MUCH better. I wanted to use this opportunity to personally thank everyone that had a hand in getting this squared away, from the Machine Shop... A/C Machine in Eagle River, to the Shop on Ft. Rich and the guys there, as well as my two buds that helped install the engine to GreenSpeed and Turbo Setch for the tuning and getting me all squared away. I'm hoping to possibly get it out to one of the AutoX weekends and see what she'll do on the track. I'm about 385ish miles into the break-in process, then we shoot for 22+ psi on her and see what happens, other than replace a transmission..lol.

Thanks again everyone,
Robert

Wanted? I'm pretty content knowing I CAN go fast This weekend, hopefully we'll get her tuned to go a bit faster.

It took about 4-5 months to get all the parts/money squared away. Setch drove it last weekend and can vouch for the build. Occasionally I still get a misfire, but I've reached the point of chalking it up to the cams. The misfire only shows if the rpm's drop below about 800, so I just keep a bit more throttle when easing out the clutch.

Not sure what stage I'd call it, since the build, maybe Setch can point me in the right direction on this one.

Your currently unstaged. You have a break in tune. After you have 500-600 miles we will push it as hard as it will go with the current setup.

Thanks bud. We got the tune in and had to adjust the idle up from 600-700 to I think we set it right at 1100 ish. I'm still running an STi Axelback, trying to keep too much attn off my car from Anch P.D. lol. Thus far, I've gotten looks from em, but none of em have hit me with radar.. (running a detectors JUST in case )

I'll try to get pics of my car up, with the drop and everything on here as soon as possible.

Yeah seth just tuned my 20g last night and we bumped idle up to 800. But you have the cams so your need just a touch more. My car is loud and no drama with APD yet (finger crossing). Can't wait till you get it broken in and see it run.

We'll see what happens. I got another misfire code today, but like I said, I'm pretty sure its just the cams being the way they are.. computer doesnt know what to do with them it seems. Hopefully we can get this squared away with the next tuning session.

You can drop missfire codes from being reported. With those cams its amazing it will idle at all.

The guy(or girl) who goes home and is happy with his(or her) car and how he(or she) built it is the winner.

Of course the Sti is going to win

We should have a WRX Vs. STI shootout once the track opens next year

^^Sounds like a plan, guess I'll look into a better turbo between now and then, as well as EWG setup and possibly a tranny? lol. Yea I'm not expecting this 5 speed to live very long..

My car is done ( cough cough). Not changin anything else except possibly a bigger MAF down the road and tweak the tune. Lets see how long that lasts.

Dude...I asked you if you had a lightened flywheel!? They do cause that especially on a 2.0l.
