You could, but seeing as its a Subaru purpose-built race car to run in the Japanese GT races, I fail to see how it's rice.

Then again I rarely consider anything rice these days. We're flooded by a sea of boring "clean" cars now, so I poke fun at them.

You've noticed that too? I'm seeing 'clean' cars that look like they were wrecked and the badges & trim weren't replaced.

Seriously, it doesn't look that good, to me at least, and most of the so called "clean" cars that everyone talks about just look pretty stock and boring to me.

If that was a daily-driven car that was dressed up like that car, then sure...it'd be rice.

But that is a race car. It's pretty damn cool looking if you ask me (except for the stupid yellow lights)

See and I disagree on that. If a person had a daily driven car, with the same body work and interior (or very similar) as that, on the streets? That be badass. Because then you have a daily driven, almost fully race capable car. That's not rice. Big, functional wings, large functional scoops, and big fenders that house wide wheels? All spot on in my book. Even a replica, with 80% of the look and ability would still be pretty awesome.

Now yes, had someone just thrown a big wing on the back of a stock Legacy, sure pretty lame.

I'm saying put all the stickers, wing, yellow film over the lights (sorry Sonny), and all the other stuff that belongs on a race car...on a stock-bodied, daily driven Legacy...then that's rice.

I would be interested in seeing the specs and dyno on this car. Interesting they went with a 2.0l and not the 2.5l. Maybe a class thing.

It is a beastly-looking race car. Of course you could box out section and chop just about anything and make it look mean. The fender treatment reminds me of the older DTM cars. Yes if this were a street car it'd be rediculously over the top in my humble opinion. I like the yellow headlight film though.

Chances are we'll see some new Legacy running around somewhere with a terrible aftermarket approximation of this car's fender and spoiler treatment and if we're very,very lucky it'll be sporting some chrome dipped spinners-I like the new Legacy body style so even typing that last sentence out made me throw up a little in my mouth. Its all relative in the end. Hopefully most guys and gals are doing stuff to their cars that makes them happy and screw what everyone else thinks. Just my 2 cents.

For some reason it reminds me of this car, a variation of the one seen in Michael Jackson: Moonwalker...

Class reasons. The two primary GT classes are 300 and 500 (bhp) respectively. Similar to ALMS/LMS the classes are run on the same track at the same time.

Remove the decals and the grille is the only thing that says it's a Subaru Legacy.

I'd like to see Subaru get into NASCAR; Toyota is there now with the Camry.
