Other Modifications: HEAVY!!! Full Interior 06 STI, AC,HEAT,STEREO,POWER EVERYTHING + 10pt Cage and Chute

Finally got the 06 STI out for some test runs.
1st pass was to check LC and alignment. Someone spilled something on the track so I found myself riding the center line so I let off.

2nd pass I got the LC working and cut a low 1.6 or 1.59.. but I quickly let off when I hit 2nd and the car was pointed at the guard rail... Rolled it out again and saw a 40mph gain from the 1/8th to the 1/4 but the car was very unstable up top.

3rd pass just stayed in it. Car was not going straight but felt pretty good so I just let it rip. Lift shifting and using the clutch with the exception of the 3-4... The AEM saw 8500rpm for some reason around the 1000-1100ft mark and turned on the soft ignition cut... You can hear the car lay down on the top side. Pretty sure it would have been a 10.0-2 @139-140mph had it not seen the limiter.

Oh well.. We are done with the 17s.. We have 15" ET Drags mounted and ready to install for this week. The car is to heavy to run on the MT MotorCycle slicks.. The car swings side to side all the way down the track, not a good feeling.

Jimmy, Berto, and Hector as usual put together a monster.
Cant say it enough The SHOP CT is 100% the best shop I have ever worked with. They make my job so easy. Jimmy knows these cars inside and out.. Jim is the real deal. 95% of the time he is in the shop working on cars instead of just being a business owner sitting around "talking" about getting **** done.. From assembling a motor to installing it.. He gets it done.
I'm glad to be part of the TEAM @ The Shop

Rob58 has himself one bad ass street car!! All the patience he has shown while the car was built. It was nice to see him happy watching the monster he had built go down the track. This is just the beginning too.. Car has another 15psi to go before its on kill.

Nicely done, Junior. I sense your frustrations on the failed attempts. Island Dragway IS an often-disappointing venue. Smart to know your limits.

135 with a burble is serious.

Congrats to Rob58 for his patience.

sorry to rain on the parade. some stuff does not make sense. the run is fine but the reasons and stats you are giving are not.

questions:
- the car was tuned for 40psi but you ran it on 28psi?
- you have slicks for the car all the time but you ran street tires?

facts:
- it could not be a skating rink if you trapped 106 in the 1/8th and picked up 29mph upstairs. you could blame the cold weather but 60 degrees is not freezing point and you could also blame the someone spilling something but again the mph on the slip does not show sliding. i think you are making this vehicle out to be more than it is.

- you claim it is heavy but the pictures show otherwise:

you can see from the GAP from the top of the tire to the bottom of the quarter panel. looks like an off road vehicle. the car is no were close to being heavy.

I dont know you or them so Im not going to make up to many excuses however there are many reasons that would explain all of the above other than saying than saying the car is heavy. Yes the car was tuned at 40 psi but this may have been a shakedown which would make sense since he mentioned playing with the lc and ffs. Also, you can spin and have traction problems and still turn good sixty foots and even pick up quite a bit of mph on thie big end. As far as having slicks and not using them I agree this car is a monster and should have used the slicks but since i like being able to say streetable i would have used street tires as well, maybe they were worried about breaking things??

The tires were MT motorcycle slicks, it was mentioned twice. There's a video of one of the PR cars going sideways in 4th gear with those tires...

very good points but still leaves alot of WHY in those answers.

- slicks were used for tuning, launching the car outside to get the lc correct, etc... but when it came to track day....they took them off?

i read all of there posts thoroughly and follow all of there threads. this is why i ask what i ask. there are still alot more questions to ask but i will wait until these are answered before moving on to others.

- i would like to see a video of this run.

Honestly, just get the F out of this thread. I didnt post in the AMR threads much, only lurked, and it is obvious that you were very frustrated there. Now your trying to lash back by bringing chit in here.

FYI, even though the term "full weight" is used loosely, the carbon trunk and lightweight seats of this car are countered by the cage and chute. It is literally heavier than stock if anything.

It does not matter what thread I speak in. Facts are facts. JR and these guys are quick to question everyone but when they go out its excuses excuses on what coulda-shoulda happened and what they did to the car before went to the track to "down tune it" which never make sense and then claim the car "will go this fast if we had bla bla bla what they took off originally" (ex: no slicks, no 40psi, etc... not to mention no video).

I follow there threads and comment when there is a good job. You are arguing with me for posting facts that people aready know from there threads. I can also say what everyone says on this forum, how do we know thats even the car? Is that slip even for that car? Weres the video?

I am not here to argue just asking alot of WHY questions. Please do not take this wrong but I am part of the Subaru community as well and I would like to know the answers to my WHY questions.

are you seriously saying you can measure weight with your eye's

that STi is heavy because it's jacked up high...

that STi is like that for weight transfer if anything

you realize you sound foolish, don't you? just run for the hills on this one...

Either way, 28 psi and tens is stupid! I would pull over on my bike (gsxr 1000 on the spray) and cry if i did a roll with ANY car and it ran with me. Very nice build, very very nice tune.
