Here's pretty much a copy+paste from CL and other forums.

I am looking to sell my 2005 Subaru STi with 60k miles as soon as possible so I can get rid of the payments which I can no longer afford. Due to the circumstances I am selling it at a very low price to make it quick.

The car has no mechanical or physical issues to speak of, it is a very clean car. I had a few aftermarket parts on it, but changed nothing major in the motor. It is currently 100% stock except for the springs, which are a bit too much of a task to change for a small change. They are Crucial Racing springs and do not lower the car too much. The tires are still stock, which are Bridgestone re-070's. They still have enough life on them to make it through the next summer, because the car will also come with snow tires. Those are Nokian Hakkapellita Studded snow tires, which have plenty of life left.

As I said, it is in perfect physical condition. It was in an accident where I was hit between the drivers' side doors and the work was done by Moody's Collision in Maine. The car shows no ill effects from it at all. It was returned to the perfect state it was in before.

Color: Crystal Gray Metallic
Mileage: 53,3XX miles

Price: $17,000

What is that price?

Some other questions for the benefit of your audience (and me who is interested in purchasing an '05-'06 STi):
Has it had its 60k service done?
What mods did it have and for how long?
Do you have any before pics of the damage? Was there any frame damage?

Thanks, all good questions.

It has NOT had it's 60k. if someone a bit more enlightened than i can list what the 60k service would be that would be great.

It had a Stage 2 combination of mods done. Invidia all the way back, with APS intake. It ran XPT open source stage 2 tuning.

I don't have any predamage pics but I can describe it as best I can. I was hit directly between the doors. The side air bag went off. No drivetrain was damaged or replaced, it was a clean body hit. Since this is a unibody car and not a body on frame, there is no frame to affect. However a rail of the unibody was replaced. It was all done by the most respected body shop in the area. Like I said it shows no ill effects and is NOT a salvage title. it is a totally normal title and all that shows up is a side collision on the carfax. I know this is an important issue to disclose so I want to make sure I'm as clear as possible

Thanks guys, keep the questions coming

Here is a link to the service schedule.
http://www.subaru.com/content/downlo...005SchedCA.pdf

Basically everything that can wear is usually worn at 60k. Brakes (especially the fronts), tires and struts are the common items.

Thanks for all the answers. You seem like a stand up seller. I'll be in touch after tomorrow.

Pads could admittedly use a swap. I was planning on getting some Hawk HPS, but obviously plans changed. If something like that were to get in the way of a sale...then pads could be arranged. The tires I explained in the original ad, the winters obviously helped. I don't have any strut clunk at the moment.

More on the tires: re-070's are rated at 60k but we all know that's unrealistic. Luckily these came off an 07 along with the rims. The person who traded mine in got an 07 sti and kept their aftermarket rims and tires. Lucky for me that meant my re-070's only had around 20k on them. At the moment they have around 35k as a result

Great News update for anyone interested! Somehow I must have been looking at the trip odometer, which i never use, when i checked the mileage quickly. This caught my eye this morning:

Quick edit: Yes i do have the stock cluster surround, just haven't put it back on yet

I owned this car for the first 39K. Took very good care of it. No mods at all for the time I owned it other than stainless break lines, motul brake and tranny fluids at 30K miles. All service for first 39k done at Patriot Subaru. Only issue is i went through alot of rear struts, just like every pre-08 STi. On my second set for the current one....

Good luck with sale--I miss the 05 gearbox
