Default Can someone school me on strut rebuilds (Ohlins)?

I have a set of fixed perch struts that are currently for sale, but I am having second thoughts. I would like to get them rebuilt and have contacted Ohlins to see what that entails.

Here's my question: I would like to have the housings redone in some sort of sexy, durable powder coat (the stock Ohlins finish is no match for our weather here). Would it be possible to pull the cartridges for the trip to Ohlins and at the same time send to housings to the powder coater? Or are there consumables that they use in the reassembly process that would be destroyed in the powder coating oven? (Seals, O-rings, etc...)

Thanks for the help!

Mitch
