most people do it when they get in wrecks.

maybe you can get an 04-05 guy to trade.
the only issue with trading(other than potential color issues) is dont 04-05's have more stuff, depending if you trade with an STi the STi will have:
STi Bumper
STi Splitters
STi hoodscoop
STi Grill

bugeye would have to have STi fog covers, JDM STi scoop, JDM STi Grill and then maybe cash on top.

idk thats how i see it, GL

Good luck, but i really love the bugeyes now!!

The stock headlights look pretty plain, and morettes/projectors would definitely improve the look.

You also need the rad. Beam, the triming around the light, you might also need to but 04 wheel aprons. If you need a site to get cheap oem parts hit up subarupartscenter.com google it. They make it feel like your buying Honda parts.(cheap ass f##K) I had to fix my front 2 times for the year.

i got in an accident a little while ago and thought about changing my front end to '06-07 front end. i found that, unless you get into a really bad wreck, you'd end up buying a lot more parts than just the ones that broke. so i ended up just staying bugeye, but with cleared headlights. with the whole front end painted, i love her again!

If you don't like the headlights Koji mod them. Don't ruin your bugeye. Just my opinion though.

this is what you need:

Hood
Bumper
Fenders
Headlights
Upper Core Support
Headlight Housings (the part under the headlight)
Bumper Support (if you want it or have no FMIC)

The swap is simple and goes by fast if the car isn't munched.

There is a lot of test fitting to get everything set so you can tack the core support back in for good. I did it once on a 03 that was a little munchy.

Bugeyes are going to be rare someday and people converting them to hawkeye or peanut eyes are going to kick themselves.

Save the Bugeyes!!!!
BTW, do the math and see if it wouldnt be cheaper and easier to sell your car to one of these bug fetishists and then pick up a nice 04 or newer.

wait, i'm confused, is this for the "oops i bought the wrong year model of my car so i'm going to convert it"? i see doing a bugeye swap since those never came to the states in sti fashion but wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a blob eye? or do you really like the EJ20

Personally, I think the 04-05 are the best looking of the 02-07s, and I was disappointed in Subaru when they went from the GC to the Neon-esque headlights of the bugeye.

That being said, the bugeye looks fine, there are a few different alternate headlights that fit in there, and if I had a bugeye, I would keep it bugeye. If I had my heart set on a blobeye, (Also called pigeye?) I would get my 02-03 sellable and trade up.

But my opinion is skewed since I own a stinkeye, (Which is the least attractive Impreza of them all, IMO,) so a bugeye would be a step up in the looks dept for me.

i actually considered converting my 04 STi over to a bugeye i just dont want to spend the money on the JDM bugeyes (which is the only way to do it IMO)
