Exclamation FS (SoCal): NEW Perrin Cross-Lock Subframe Brace (pickup/ship ok)

[Updated on 12-10-2009]:
PRICE LOWERED TO $499 SHIPPED.

$70 lower than MSRP, I'll cover the expensive oversized shipping, and you don't pay sales tax like I did.

Selling my newly purchased Perrin Cross-Lock Subframe Brace.

For detail specs and applications, please visit: http://www.perrinperformance.com/products/show/279.

REASON: I can't install it on my automatic. The automatic transmission crossmember is longer than the manual transmission crossmember. The developer didn't seem to use an AT for their research project and didn't even realize the fitment issue...
Read this thread and you'll know what I'm talking about:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...4&postcount=22

CONDITION: NEW, opened box. I DID NOT bolt on to my car coz I realized the fitment issue during the pre-installation check. The braces have not even touched my car yet. All installation accessories (bolts and washers) are in new & unused condition too.

PRICE: Perrin MSRP is $579.99 and I paid about $650 tax'd & ship'd. I hate to sell this item with a loss but I think I don't have a choice. I'm frustrated but I am asking for $550 (Was: $600) SHIPPED OR BEST OFFER . This item requires oversized shipping at ~25lb 60"x20"x10" dimensional rate. Run a quote and you'll see shipping will cost me about $65. Local buyer can waive this $65, and as-if I am selling this brace to you at $485 OBO.

HOW TO PAY: PayPal only. Local buyer will also pay via PayPal before pick-up.

WHERE TO PICK-UP (for local buyers): Thu/Fri around Long Beach. Sat around Montclair/Rancho Cucamonga. Details will be discussed individually.

I don't know about other brands of ALK, but if yours is Perrin ALK (aka Perrin PSRS), then you are GOOD TO GO.

According to the Perrin PSRS installation instructions:
http://perrinperformance.com/shared/.../pspsus400.pdf
The Cross-Lock Subframe Brace is compatible with the PSRS.

On Page 3 of the Perrin PSRS installation instructions, it specifically noted:
"Will this fit with the PERRIN Cross lock brace? Yes, and you do not need to use the supplied spacers included with the kit."
Slightly below this note on the same page, Perrin highly recommends the cross-lock subframe brace to go together with the PSRS too!

With all that said, and considering the similarities between different brands ALK, I believe they all fit, but I can't guarantee.

As a matter of fact, I have Whiteline ALK on my wagon. I almost could put the cross-lock brace on mine but due to that A/T crossmember. My mechanic didn't see any compatibility issues between the Whiteline ALK and the cross-lock brace, but he didn't try to trim the A/T crossmember due to liability, which I understand and therefore I am seeking a home for these cross-lock braces.

I hope I've answered your question.

BUMP!

Also, if you have your own shipping carrier, that's perfectly fine. Just pay for your own shipping label, then send me a copy (PDF, etc), and I'll print it out and affix on the box.

This way you may save some on shipping cost.

Not that I could think of. I made a bulk purchase on suspension parts together with these braces and I thought they all go together. Too bad the braces are only for M/T but not my A/T.

My next purchase will definitely be a set of 4 new tires, and some genuine subaru parts for the 120k major maintenance.

Understood. The price I asked in post #1 is what I hope, but I gladly take the best offer from potential buyers.

Thanks for the advice though.

Sorry, I'm not sure. I do not have a skid plate on mine.
If you like, please tell me the brand name & part number of your skid plate and I can ask that question to Perrin's tech support.

Or, someone wants to chime in?
