Default 97 or 98 LGT w/blown motor. Good 1.8 motor. Hybrid??????

I want to use the 2.5 heads/intake manifold on the 1.8 bottom end. Because I have a 1.8 sitting around. If not, I can try to get a 2.5 SB. Just planning this leaves me with a lot of questions like:

1. I'm sure I should use the headgaskets for the 1.8, but can someone tell me I'm right?
2. Would there be any problem with deck clearance? Because, from what I understand at TDC the piston clears the deck a bit, and I don't want to ruins those heads and this be a waste of time and more money, having to buy an entire 2.5L motor instead of a SB.
3. Are all the sensors there in the 1.8 block so that I can keep from having any constant CELs.

If anyone has attempted to construct this frankenstein? Any and all information would be great! Like I said, I want to do this because the 1.8 is free and will provide a temporary fix until the girl blows it up too.

Thanks for any and everything again,
Dave

Do the ej25d SB and put the 1.8 heads on it, you will be running high compression, a significant boost in power. Or, just drop in the whole 1.8 and turbo it.

I've turboed one before, and I can't say that I love the reliability.

. . . . Or I would.

Still. I kindof need more information.

TTT.

The bore differential is too great between the two engines. You can use an Ej22 bottom end, but not an Ej18.

Thank you. That's what I needed to know.
