i placed the stock mudflap over the measurements and put a marker through the holes of the stock mudflaps and then cut the hole out of the mudflap...i also used the stock mud flap to get some curvature and i used the stock hardware since these arnt all too too thick

My 06 dosent have the clips for the back... anyone know a part number or are those clips a one size fits all kinda thing? or even better would be if rally armor sells the self tapping clips for their flaps seperate, im going to try to dig some info up

Also the front clips dont seem long enough, but im going to try to finish this up tomorrow so i should know by then...

When i did the holes, i didnt have a flap to go from so i just measured the center of one hole to the other and eyeball'ed the angle had a friend hold it up over the holes so i could look at if from a distance and it came out ok

the 08-09 guys are missing some of the usual holes, but mine are just missing the clips, im going to test fit clips from the under tray to see if its the right size

I compared the cutting boards to the basic mudflap and the thickness is about the same. the rally armor is just a lil more flexible though.

About those clips, I found them at lowes. they are called speed nuts. a pack of 4 goes for $.68. they come in size #14 so get size #14 screws and you're set.

heres another tip, after cutting the boards with tin snips, smooth the edges using a razor blade and just skiming over it. after ward, take a lighter to it to melt the edge a lil bit so it isnt white from the cut.

i just got done with this one, the backs are a little off though, they dont look quite right so im going to take them off and re drill the holes tomorrow.

since i didnt have the hardware i needed i went to auto zone and got clips there (1/4 inch, long), that total $4.60

but before i do that im going on a 2 hour drive to go snowboarding, so ill know how the hold up to high speed...

ill finish with an additional write up to the first one when i get the backs like i want them.

the hardest part is getting the holes right.

Ok so far I have driven 800 miles with these on in the following situations: taken two trips to brighton (ski resort) in pretty snowy weather, had one night of snow rallying in parking lots and such, and drove 700 miles on gravel covered freeway at speeds of up to 85.

Results: The flaps are slightly bent backwards toward the bottom of the flap but other than that they still look good and fit tightly. Best of all they are doing a great job at protecting my car from said driving conditions

I post some pics tomorrow

Rear:
width on top: 1.5"
width on bottom: 11"
height on left: 16" but i did 14.5" b/c thats how long the cutting board is
height on right: 10.5" but i did 9" to keep it in proportion.

STI LOGO:
7" long
2.5" high

A stencil would be sweet though.

The quoted I believe are JDM OEM flaps. Im curious how these compare to RA's.

I know RA is a quality product, I'd just really like to try an exact dimension DIY first to see how they look/perform dimensionally.

it isn't - reverse engineering is legal.

Just so you guys know, these things WILL get destroyed if you actually need mudflaps (IE rallyx or something). I ripped a set to shreds in one day of rallyx.
