learn how to drive your car.
You just got it, find out how it runs first before you go throwing stuff at it. |

My rex's stage was Sti Stage 2 on TS pro tune. I had my car at stage 2 for wrx then upgraded to stage 2 for sti and got a TS pro tune. Had it on that tune for a good 6 to 7 months ie 17lbs of boost.
No stock sti or evo was keepin up with me. My tuner told me he wouldnt tune any more aggressive because with my kind of driving and stock 2.0 internals there was a nasty break waiting to happen and I wouldnt enjoy my car. Boy was he right LOL. It was time for an upgrade due to pushin close to 300hp on that motor. NOTE: Figure out what form of driving you plan to do with it then, once you are used to the car, modify accordingly. Live by my motto "Do it Once, Do it Right". NO SHORTCUTS OR HALFA$$ING |

LOL a "solid month?" It'd be nice if you could learn the limits of your car in a month. I'd wait until summer before you start throwing money at it, cosmetically and performance-wise. Once the snow hits, more power won't do you any good...and all the pretty cosmetic things you buy will get trashed by the snow, dirt, rocks, and all the other crap winter up here does to your car.
btw, is your username supposed to be "vendetta?" |

I can get you a bumper sticker with that on it. lol. We jacked this guys' thread.
Just to stay on topic. Once you get used to the car stock, then go stage 2. It will put a smile on your face all over again. |

I fail.....
OK then either go protune stage 2 instead of OTS stage 2 maps, or just upgrade turbo, injectors and fuel pump :-). (and turbo inlet and intercooler if you go a decent bit bigger) |

Welcome to the Forum...
As most of the people here have said, go to a couple of autox or rally cross events, get to know what you want out of your car and then buy parts to achieve your goal. Most people start with Stage two as it opens up alot of power for little effort/cost. Once you start messing with injectors or go to a bigger turbo you are taking a large step, one that alot of members on here have regretted taking. Go stage two, change your suspension depending on your application (street, autoX or drag) attend a couple of events and learn what you and your car can and can not do and then make the next step once you are informed. If you do it any other way more than likely you will buy parts that you don't need or want once you figure out what you want to do. Also the search button is your friend, there is alot of info on Nasioc and about 5% of the people on the forums really know what they are talking about the rest are fanboys or are full of ****. The percentage is higher here in AKIC, there are alot of people that know alot about cars so do you best to filter through the BS. Last edited by Kiwi Fella; 11-03-2009 at 03:01 AM. |
