Thumbs up UpPipe/DownPipe & 8" rims LEGAL in STX

From SCCA Fast track news 06-02:
Quote:
SOLO EVENTS BOARD MINUTES
SPORTS CAR CLUB OF AMERICA
April 10, 2002
March 19, 2002

The Solo Events Board met by confer-ence
call March 19th. Attending were
SEB members Guy Ankeny, Colan
Arnold, Paul Brown, Marcus Merideth,
Charlie Davis, and Howard Duncan of
the National Staff. These minutes are
presented in topical order rather than in
the order of discussion.

TECH BULLETINS

6) Street Touring X Class: The wheel
width maximum for STX (only) is
amended to be 8". Comment: this is to
permit the OE wheels of popular eligible
models to be legal in this class.

7) Street Touring X Class: The "pre-cat(
s)" and primary catalytic converter
may all be replaced by a single convert-er,
provided the resultant configuration
meets Federal emissions inspection
standards at normal vehicle operating
temperature.
This news may have been posted else where, if so then sorry for yesterdays news. This WAS news to me and I thought it would insterest people in this forum.

Yeah you mainly have user z3coupe on the board to thank for that. He bugged the right people and rallied up enough to support to make the single cat thing happen.

Yes, I posted that a couple of weeks ago, see this thread. The Auto-X rule thread was also updated accordingly.

Yep Mark, single high-flow cat will be legal. So you can replace the entire exhaust system including the headers if you want.
