Default 2005 Sti Tranny Swap into 05 Wrx---Posted this in the Tranny Section too

Hello all,
About a year ago I was posting on this forum and gathering knowledge about how to go about this swap (05 wrx wagon that is).
Anyway, now I am in the middle of the swap and things are going smoothly (except for getting ripped off on the Brembos, but we won't talk about that...), but I need a little help.
I have the 5-speed and the 6-speed sitting next to each other and I know that the wiring is different, but I am unsure as to how I should change the wiring. I guess I have what 3 options:

1. Cut the wires on the 5-speed and 6-speed and the solder the wrx 4-pin connector onto the wires. (Not preferred)

2.Disconnect the connectors (between the main connector and the sensor) and connect those together. (If you don't understand this one let me know)...Basically you have the sensor on the tranny which runs to a plstic connector and then from there to the main 4-pin connector. The connectors on the 6-speed don't look like they match the connectors on the 5-speed. (Preferred)

3. I guess the other option, but I am unsure about this one would be to unscrew the bolts with the wires on the them and switch the physical bolts, but I don't know which bolt corresponds to which piece on the two transmissions...I could look it up in the manuals if I needed too, but I am guessing this one won't work.

If I missed an option let me know, and more importantly, can you tell me how I should go about doing this.

On a slightly different note, I have my Spiider controller (very nice workmanship btw, I fully recommend his product) and I am going to run the DCCD wires from the tranny up through the rubber shifter surround. Does this sound ok?
Basically I have the DCCD located on the passenger side of the car tapping into the heated seat circuit because I don't have heated seats, so I figured that there was plenty of power there(and I am stepping the power down with inline 10 amp fuse) plus the DCCD is close to the ECU.

Thanks for all the help,
Greg

BTW:
I am gonna try and swap the harnesses later on Tuesday and put the 6-speed back into the car on late Tuesday, if I can get the responses. If not, I have a day off on Wednesday to do this also, but I was hoping to use that day to install the control arms
, hubs, and brakes and try to have her back on the road by the end of the week. (And, yes I know I need an alignment, that is in the works)
