Just checked it out online. We haven't tuned one (or, Matt hasn't to my knowledge) but we'd be happy to give it a shot. Is the car operational at the moment?

Tuning the simtek setup is pretty straightforward, anyone that can tune a real standalone should be able to tune on that without much trouble, as long as it has been intially setup properly. In many ways its alot like megasquirt (at leas the last time I looked at the software to help a guy over the net).

Especially if the tuner is familiar with the groupN SD maps for the 16bit rexes, this shouldnt be bad at all.

thats my 2 cents anyway

The simtek is gaining a lot of popularity in England in the subaru and evo community. It's received very good reviews so far. The same tuners who love the Autronic and Motec are recommending the Simtek too. It will probably take Matt all of 5 minutes to get comfortable with it.

May I ask what vendor sold you the Simtek and which one you bought?

Im not sure what the benefits of it are over current solutions, especially for 02+ cars, but I can see it being super useful for pre 02s
