What is this sensor for?

What is this sensor for? and do I need it?

Located under the intake manifold, goes from the inlet pipe to the vac line thats on the hard fuel lines

This is not my pic, best i could find online

the vac line keeps falling off and leaking on mine.

if the fuel vap just vents to air.. how would that give me a cell? sensor would still be plugged in, feed would be there but hose from sensor-> inlet would be gone.

this would let me relocate the sensor and free up the space i need.

I don't think you want to vent fuel vapor into a hot engine bay. This device connects to the plethora of emissions equipment near the charcoal canister and gas tank.

You will get a CEL from one of the pressure sensing devices if there is no engine vacuum when the system needs it.
