Default 2013 WRX E85 Yimisport Tuned

Hey Everyone! Figured it was about time to get some of this written out!

Purchased the car new from Santa Monica on August 2nd, 2013
Had 6 miles when I pulled the trigger... then i get there and it has 12 miles. Guess the guys got in their redline pulls on their way to the gas station for me.

Immediately got taillight overlays to get rid of the clear look that i think looks terrible.

After getting through 1000 miles behaving myself, I decided it was time to give this thing the power it deserved from the factory. So the real mods began...

So for the first modding experience I bought:
a used Cobb Accessport V2 for cheap
an Invidia divorced wastegate catted downpipe
an Invidia N1 race catback exhaust

Then went down to Yimisport in So-Cal and got protuned by Paul on their Dynojet.

Car put down 278awhp/313awtq on 91 octane. Night and day difference from stock, and the car just felt like a rocket ship.

Car stayed relatively the same minus some small things like an Anarchy Motive shift knob and window tint... put the power started to fell normal again. So you know what that means. Time to get some more mods! This time around I spent many many hours doing research and decided E85 was the way to go.

So I purchased:
a Process West TMIC
a set of Injector Dynamics 1000cc Injectors
a Grimmspeed EBCS
a Deatschworks DW65c fuel pump
a K&N drop in filter

20 gallons of E85

Hit 8000 miles on the way from Clovis to Santa Clarita!

The parts were installed and tuned on October 16th by Paul @ Yimisport.
Also switched to Eneos 5w-40 oil for safe measure.

Car put down around 340awhp/366awtq. Power was turned down due to a slipping stock clutch. Paul suggested I come back with a Southbend Stage 3 clutch. He will finish up the tune, and said the car should make well over 400 torque to the ground.

Gave the car a proper detailing. Clay barred, Waxed with Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax, and wiped down with Chemical Guys Hybrid V7.

My brothers 2011 Forester XT. Turbo swapped to a VF52, PW TMIC,COBB Intake, Full Invidia Exhaust, Koyorad, Injectors, Fuel pump, Tomei EL Headers, Tial EWG, Wrx suspension, 2004 STI BBS wheels, sway bars, endlinks, and a tune on E85. Total sleeper, and has torque like you can't even believe.

MOD LIST:

Engine:
Cobb Accessport V2 with Yimisport E85 and 91 maps
PW TMIC
Invidia Catted DP
Invidia N1 Race
K&N Drop In Filter
Deatschworks DW65c fuel pumo
ID 1000cc Injectors
Grimmspeed EBCS
Southbend Stage 3 Endurance clutch

Exterior:
35% front 15% rear Window Tint

I hear so many good things about Yimi. Would you recommend them? How did you like your stage 2 tune?

You'll end up around 350 to 360whp and ~400wtq from what I typically see posted on VF52s. Hope to see your updated numbers soon!

That is pretty solid power right there! Yimisport does amazing tuning, I regret not getting my car tuned there. He tunes a lot of the Subarus that do timeattack here in socal and they are absolute tanks, even in our summer high desert heat I haven't seen that typical hot weather implosion people create by putting to much power without the supporting mods. And that foz, holy crap that is a sleeper haha!!! Keep it up!!

I would not take my car anywhere else. Stage 2 was super smooth, and E85 even more so. The power is just there. Not a single issue with the car. I highly highly recommend them.

Basically what Paul said. He said he wouldn't be suprised if it put down over 400 tq.

Default New Clutch!!

Update: Well I just hit the 15,000 mile mark and decided it was time for some preventative maintenance and a new clutch!

I drove down to Yimisport on July 28th and had:
  • a new SouthBend Stage 3 Endurance Clutch installed
  • new transmission fluid
  • new rear differential fluid
  • oil and filter change with an OEM Filter and Eneos 5w40 oil

The clutch feel is amazing! I have already put over 400 miles on the clutch, and while the pedal is heavier, the engagement is smooth and simple. Highly recommend SouthBend

Great thread you have going here! Have you been back for the retune yet since you have upgraded the clutch? Or are you still waiting to get last the break in mileage for the clutch before putting her back on the rollers?

A clutch doesn't require a retune

No kidding but if you read his thread you'd know he has a mild tune because his stock clutch was slipping...so to get the full performance out of his build after the new clutch got put in it does need a retune.... Read before you speak next time the OP even states this in one of his posts -_____-

I have a V2 Accessport and it was giving my tuner some problems last time, so I am going to get a V3 and go back for a tune in early September!

UPDATE:

I reached the first 500 miles on the SouthBend Stage 3 Endurance clutch today.

The clutch feels great, and I think the pedal has gotten lighter, or I have become used to it. All in all, clutch is great, and holds well but is very easy to daily drive, as I do.

I also decided to break the clutch in the proper way, so on its 500th mile, I got on the freeway on ramp and did a little 2nd through the top of 4th pull... and she pulls.
