Default IM Question

Alright.. well its come time to get my car IM'd before the New Year, and I've got a small, somewhat loud problem... I dont have any catalytic converters, and with them doing a visual inspection, that could be an issue... SO, here's the question I have..

Where would someone recommend that I take my car to so that I can get this IM taken care of since my registration is due by 31 december...

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks everyone,
-Robert

There's no visual inspection.

No. They don't sniff either. All they do is plug in, check the monitors, and you're off.

Yep, if you're tuned to delete the rear O2 code and "Force Readiness Monitors On" then you will pass.

Not just cleared, P0420 has to be disabled and the Readiness Monitors have to be forced on.

Thats awesome! I'll have to check with Seth and see what all we disabled.. he told me just about every failsafe was disabled on the car (we did it because I kept throwing Check Engine Lights because of cams lope at idle) lol. So I'll give em a call and see what he says.

I had my check engine light disabled, hooked her up and she passed just fine. No visual, although he did ask and I told him yeah everything is there. I do have a "cat." I was just as worried as you were, but it was walk in, walk out, pass, and go.

Heh, lucky. One of my favorite exahusts that I really miss. I've never had a nicer exhaust than the Blitz Nur Spec R.

Go to Alpina Auto Repair - 3607 Spenard Rd. 563-2066.

@Imprez

Forcepass readiness is a hack that tells the IM test machine exactly what it wants to hear. This is not enabled on your car. We will need to update the tune to change that.

@06gtleg

From what I can tell in the 32bit code we don't have the forcepass rediness hack. I don't know if you need it to pass. I don't IM my cars so I have little experience here. I think what you need though is the P0000(PASS CODE) diasabled.

Stand by...

Ok there is no "force pass readiness" for 32bit ECU's....Recommend you don't reset your ECU for a few days before the test and make sure you have some stop and go driving and some highway in. Do some good highway driving right before the test...

No force pass on 32bit? Mine is on. Latest defs on RomRaider here. Maybe I'm cracked. I'll get the laptop out and look at my tune again.

P1702 Auto Trans Diagnosis Input Signal Circuit

Unlikely that this is causing the rich condition. I would check air filter, MAF sensor, vac leaks.

What defs are you using. I don't have that in the 06 legacy tune...Or the STI tunes.

Maybe I missed the memo.
