Default turbo people i need help with pics

to be more specific i need pictures of the your suspension. the frame members where they meet the body. i intend to get to the bottom of this height difference thing. i was under the impression that the only change was spring length. recently i've heard of body spacers on the outback after 04 and since the baja and outback share a lot i want to know. so bring on the pics, either post here or send them to speedymatt at cox dot net.

I'm quite sure that, in 04 the spring length changed, giving the Baja an increase in ground clearance. Then, for the 05 and 06 years they added the spacers between the body and suspension assemblies. This gave a slight ride height, but no increase in actual ground clearance. I run into this when installing the lift on my 05. I'll get some pics of them for comparison.

thanks and please do take some pics, ideally id like to compile the pics and really get a side by side comparo. if the springs really are it i'll log on to subaruparts and buy a set of 04 springs for under $50. if it is the "spacer" setup i'll have to dig some more.

do you remember if those spacers are welded in or loose? another option would be to find a couple junkyard outbacks, pop the spacers and just start lyering them to equal the scorpion (no longer available) lift, but for less.

so now i need an 04 owner to chime in and send me pics!

The spacers on mine were welded.

This photo shows the spacers that came with the Scorpion lift kit. The spacers the bolt to the top of the struts would take the most time and work to replicate. The others are just blocks with pre-drilled holes.

just the threads that popped up during a google search but no i guess i haven't searched over there.

buck,
so the factory spacers are just inbetween the suspension members and the body or at the top of the struts aswell? about how thick are the factory ones?

there was a company somewhere on ebay the was selling strut spacers for the baja but i dont think they sold many and have not resurfaced. also there was talk that forester spacers from AU would work.

ok lets get back to the factory stuff. i want to lift my 03 even to just what the 05s have and if i can add 1 or 2 more spacers on top of that then i can sell the wife on the fact that the lift is "factory". plus do it on a budget by just popping some from the junkyard.

thanks for helping guys.
