Default Sweet repair job **END SARCASM**

So I had a guy pull out in front of me at the beginning of the month. I hit him and caused 9K in damage. I got the car back with 1700 extra miles on the clock. The engine was smoking, the interior has an overwhelming smell of paint fumes, and the best part of all the engine sounds like ****

The repair shop put 1700 miles on it? How is that even possible and where the hell would they be driving it?

I took my old tacoma there when I wrecked it and same damn thing man, horrible engine noises...but the worse was the suspension my truck never drove the same. I tried to get them to do something about it and they wouldn't and it got all nasty, so eventually I gave up. It would have almost costed more for a lawyer/attorney than to have someone else fix B&B's mistakes! So...I traded it in.

Fight the shop. If they won't cooperate, go through your insurance. Hope you get everything sorted out.

I have no idea what is wrong with the motor. All I have is a DP and cobb AP. After it is has time to warm up (5-10 minutes of driving) the sound goes away.

I called the shop last night (left a message) and asked about the miles put on my car. I will be calling the insurance company today and the car goes back into the shop on Monday.

And how come the didn't total a car with 9K worth of damage?

Sounds like a horrible situation. Everyone losses when insurance companies do this. You, the next buyer, the insurance company. Everyone except the body shop that is. They get paid no mater what happens. **** even if they send your car somewhere else to fix the engine they still probably make there markup off your car. ****ed up man.

Yeah this whole thing sucks. I loved my car until now. It had only been at stage 2 for a week before the wreck.

Thats just unburned fuel popping, it happens when you downshift and let off the gas too. In my car (or any other) it also happens when coasting in gear in low rpms its starts to gurgle and pop. So don't worry i'm surprised you've never heard it, probably cause you couldn't hear it with stock exhaust. I love that sound, and I've never heard a stg2 legacy, it sounds sweet.

Backfiring is obvious when there are loud pops when the car is idling.

This is just a random video. Although I own a 2.5 magnaflow. You hear the same pop and gurgle with the new exhaust, its completely normal. I regret not getting the 3" magnaflow, such a deep throaty note, damn.

Is it a ticking sound? I know its common and normal in a lot of cars when they are cold to hear a ticking noise esspecially under acceleration. Although its usually not very loud, I forget what is a called maybe "cylinder tick" or something.

Do you have proof of mileage when they took it in? Because either they drove it too much, or they are committing fraud.

Yeah, the milage was recorded when they took it in. It is on their original quote.

I get to argue with them at 8:00 this morning. Good fun.
