After taxes and shipping - it was 1250 - but I also picked up a set of Enkei's to put them on so I can switch them after each season. In my mind... after 2 years.. the rims would pay for themselves.

Honestly... Where is this? Is it open to other MW folk? I ****ing love these pictures and would gladly surrender any shots I take with my camera to let loose on this over the winter.

I will probably switch over to them tomorrow or Wednesday, since I need to look into my e-brake cable issue and don't want to mess with it when it's freezing out.

My "winter wheels" are just the stock 6 spokes on cheapo all weather tires anyway (I was impressed last year in the snow)

I believe it's a frozen lake in wisconsin.

And I'm also on General Altimax Arctics. Great tire.

I live in the central part of Wisconsin. We have plowed tracks on frozen lakes. It's all legal and safe when organized properly. Some days it makes for some great photo opportunities.

some groups that run here in Wisconsin:

www.cwscc.com
www.fvscc.com
www.w-a-g.org

They run a lot of ice events in MI, but don't know any of those guys.

Running a rallye in west central Wisconsin this weekend so I threw on the All Seasons. Will wait for serious snow to throw on the Hakki's.

I am thing of doing ice racing for the first time in WI this year. I am wondering what is better the Altimax Arctic or the blizzaks? I am looking and they are close on price. But the Arctics are a little cheaper.

I actually just switched to my winter wheels....although technically in this case they'll be dirt/gravel tires.

Yeah, you have a good memory there. I was trying to be a little sarcastic! Usually it travels down to Alabama but with a recent job and such, I've committed it to the garage. Hence, I'm sporting a 95 L (gotta love the reliable 2.2l).

Bought a set of winter tires on 02 WRX wheels from a guy who used to own an 09 WRX. Great guy, great deal. Too bad he doesn't have his WRX anymore

But I'm looking forward to doing at least one ice race this year...please do post up about it and give us all a heads up when an event is coming up!

Usually the General's are a lot cheaper. You can't go wrong with either one. The Blizzaks should have more grip on glare ice, but won't last as long and the tread chunks up after hard use. These are just casual observations after years of putting on ice rallycross events.

We are at the mercy of the weather at ice events. I will for sure post up when the ice is safe and we are running events.

Sounds like a challenge. I'll put my $92 17" General Altimax Arctic up against your Hakka R's on the ice.

Picked up some 02 WRX wheels with winter tires on them from a local guy. Put them on today after doing an oil change and a car wash. Same tire as you, Scooby South!

I can't wait for the snow...
