Default i need help and information on what gear set to go with

i have a 2007 wrx running a td06 20g on 23psi and 3 days ago my tranny just gave up and i stripped 3rd gear doing a freeway pull i have been doing some research on gear sets and everyone seems to favor the ppg hilical set up but its really expensive is it worth the money to go with a RA or M-factor gear set or should i just get another stock one still i can afford ppg's

I hear RA gearsets aren't a very big upgrade. I say just save up for PPG's or do a 6 speed swap. No use in spending more money than you have to when the RA gears break

would the RA's last a little longer than stock replacement? do you know how much power they can handle?

Is this car your DD? PPGs are pretty loud, and might get kind of obnoxious on a DD car. They hold a lot of power and probably wouldn't break, where as the RA gears have a better chance of breaking.

look around for an 04 STI 6spd that would be better than PPG for a DD. If you can handle the noise PPG is a good way of going. If you aren't tracking your car I wouldn't get PPG or any straight cut gears.

04 tranny 2500 http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ight=04+tranny I don't know who this is, just a simple search. Look around you should find something for less than PPG gears.

PPG helical cut gears arent that loud at all and would be good for DD

straight cut would suck for DD and would make the car harder to sell if you were to sell it.

6spd youll need more than just the tranny. depending on the year. rear diff, axles, drive shaft etc.

That's why I said 04. It should bolt up with his current set up. 5X100 hubs, 180 rear dif. Everything should be the same. May be the triveline is shorter??? I really don't know for sure just guessing.
