Default Stock battery longevity

Anyone have any idea what how long the stock battery should last? I imagine it's probably the same kind they use on all the late model Subarus.
All the batteries in my previous cars have lasted about 5 years before needing to be replaced. Should I expect the same?

I think the stock battery in our old 98 Forrester made it 7-8 years...

I think my '04 still has the original battery but I could be wrong. I know for absolute certainty that mine's no more than 2 or 3 years old since that's about how long I've had it.

Pretty sure I'm still on my original battery.

Which is amazing. For me.

I replaced mine last winter. Had a bad cell in it which made starting hit and miss, specially when it was a very cold night.

Two and a half years, but that was also 80k miles and moving from a hot climate to cold climate.

Just replaced mine about a month ago at 70k miles. Started having issues with it being very hit-or-miss on cold days, especially now that the temps are dropping below freezing.

mine died about 2.5 years and 55k in and that was moving from cold to hot constantly. I upgraded to a yellow top and have had no issues since.

03 with 98,000 and still has the original battery. We also have a 98 Outback, the battery lasted 7 years and then I replaced it as I figured its time was up, but it still worked fine.

Yep, we are lucky to get half of what Mfg stated life. Heat is the death of all batteries.

Mine let go this past summer at around 105k miles. '05 turbo, so that's also ~4 years, maybe a little less. This is a distinctly 'cool' climate, but the towing we've done really makes the engine compartment fry.

I'm not surprised that Phoenix would cook these batteries quickly. I could never get very much of anything to last long in Phoenix nor Yuma.

My 05 still has the original at 77k, we'll see how it holds up this winter.

mine is original, starting to get weak... I may start taking the jumper box along in the back seat unless it heats back up again outside.

My battery is starting to go out at 76k in my 06. I'd say thats pretty good for a lot of acc usage.
