Post SCCA Auto-X at Ft. Devens - Must Read

On the New England SCCA Site, they've posted that the SCCA is to be using a new entance to the event, not the same one as last year.

Here are the directions from their site with a little magic called Cut & Paste:

Devens Commerce Center
Ayer, MA

DO NOT GO TO THE OLD ENTRANCE!!!!
Directions: From either direction from I-495 take exit 30 (2A/110) and turn toward Ayer (that's to the NW). From either direction, you will make a left turn onto Rt 2A. Follow 2A all that way to the Devens
airport entrance. You will go through a rotary about 5 1/2 mi from I-495. Continue on 2A which is the second exit in the rotary (stright across, just past the MacDonalds).

You will then go about 1 mile and be in the center of downtown Ayer. 2A will take a right turn just past the main business district; there will be a Mobil station on your left at that corner.

NEW PART
Travel about 1/2 a mile. A couple of hundred yards after Dunkin Donuts, take a left onto Bishop Road. After the cemetery (on left) go through the first gate. Two hundred yards after this, bear right at the 'Y'. This
will take you into the site. DO NOT GO TO THE OLD ENTRANCE!!!!

Some other good info for that site -> When you get there you will see a couple Army tanks, and State Police Cars. (hundereds of them...) Do Not Go Near The Cars! Don't drive up to them, don't walk up to them. - There are usually cops there, and we don't want to lose this site because 1 person was stupid.

NER is supposed to have computerized timing and scoring, and Fort Devens is THE best site! - Kris

Thanks, Kris

I dont think you have to be a member, it just ends up being like $5 more. I dont think you can get your membership there though.

$20 - non-member - guests welcome (except some venues can only hold so many cars - require pre-reg - see NER Solo site) Solo II is considered a recruiting activity for SCCA.

you can pre-register by mail - go www.ner.org then click on the soloII pages - lots of other info there too.

cheers

Cool guys. I'm already meeting my Elcipse GSX friend in Lowell, so I wont be able to caravan down with anyone. But, I'll see you guys there!! It's easy to find, and you'll have to get used to the drive anyway for BMW.

If you're going to race - be there for 7:30 and YES it's on Sunday. - Kris
