It there is one weakness to the WRX, it is its brakes, and the more power that you make, the more obvious this becomes. Subaru has finally addressed this issue on the 2006 WRX by putting on Subaru’s 4-Pot brake calipers, and now you can retro-fit these calipers to your WRX and dramatically improve your braking capacity.

The Subaru 4-Pot calipers were first used on the 2000 – 2001 JDM STI, and are what many Subaru Rally Teams are currently using in Open, and Group-N classes.

These calipers are a direct bolt on, and use the same front rotors as the 2002 – 2005 WRX.

Because these are 4-Pot calipers, these calipers may require different wheels.

These calipers will fit under the 02-05 WRX stock wheels with the use of a 5mm spacer.

This kit put together by Brembo utilizes the exact same calipers, and rotors that are found on the STI, providing a substantial increase in braking performance. The stock brakes on a WRX, Forrester, or Legacy GT are borderline inadequate when used at the track, or in aggressive driving. The Legacy H6 rear brake upgrade is a simple (and cheap!) brake upgrade for the 2002-2005 Subaru WRX.

This upgrade uses your stock rear calipers. By moving the caliper out with a different caliper bracket, it allows you to use the H6 Legacy rear rotors, which have the same contact patch as the WRX rear brakes, but are an inch larger in diameter.

For the 2002 (and early 03') WRX kit, you will be getting the 2002 style bracket by RacingBrake, and for the 03-05 WRX's, you will be getting a RacingBrake caliper bracket designed for your calipers. They are different, so contact us if you are unsure which kit you need!

For rotors, you have a choice between the OEM H6 rear rotors and the Disc Brakes Australia DBA657SLR slotted rear rotors.

These adaptors have been designed by Kartboy to allow you to adapt the Subaru 2-Pot rear calipers off of the 2006 - 2007 WRX to fit on the 2002 - 2005 WRX.

You do not need to remove the OEM dust Shields with these spacers. However, the brake calipers, and rotors are sold seperately.

The Kartboy part # for these brackets is KB-022, and they are sold as a pair only.

The Cusco Brake Cylinder Stopper is designed to reduce the unwanted flex of the brake master cylinder when the brakes are applied. Limiting this movement means that more of the force that you apply to the brake pedal is directly applied to the brake calipers, substantially improving pedal feel.

The Hawk HPS Compound pad is perfect for someone who wants better performance than the OEM pads offer, but doesn’t want to worry about brake dust, or squeaking. These pads behave almost exactly as the OEM pads do, but offer better initial bite, as well as more linear pedal response, but they are still very easy on the rotors. They are sufficient for some spirited street driving, or light track use. If you are going to drive at the track, especially with a higher horsepower car, We would recommend a more aggressive brake compound.

The Hawk HP+ Compound is Hawk’s entry level track pad. The nice thing about this compound is that it doesn’t need to have any heat in it for it to work, so it can still be used on the street. (We have even driven on them in the winter here in Colorado with no issues though we don’t necessarily recommend this) Because it is a track pad, this compound will dust quite a bit, and it will make a reasonable amount of racket when you are driving on the street. Since it is a more aggressive friction compound, it will also wear your rotors more quickly, so we recommend using Cryo-Treated rotors if possible.

But at the track, you will be surprised how much of a difference these pads make even compared to the HPS compound. They offer much better initial bite, and are extremely linear. They are perfect for mild to moderate track use, and if you are looking for a pad that you can put in at home, and drive to the event with, this one is worth trying. Also, before you go out and spend a lot of money on a big brake kit, you owe it to yourself to try a pad of this caliber first. You will likely be surprised how much of a difference the HP+ pads can make.

Hawk’s HP+ brake compound is designed for Auto-Cross and other racing enthusiasts who drive their race vehicle to the race track. It is designed to be a true race/street pad that provides exceptional stopping performance over a wide variety of temperature ranges.

Warning - Due to the dramatic friction levels produced by this product, increased noise, dust, and pad & rotor wear may be noticed.

Racing Brake ET500 Compound Pads



The ET500 compount falls between the Hawk HPS and HP+ Compounds. If you want a pad that is a bit more agressive than the HPS but don't want to deal with the noise and rotor wear that can come with the HP+, this is the pad for you.

We have been trying out these pads for a while now, and are very happy with them. If you want something more agressive than the HPS, but are concerned about noise and dust (but are willing to live with a little of both), these are a perfect option. They are a great street pad, and are definitely up to some light track duty as well. If you are doing more agressive track sessions, then we would recommend the HP+ though.


- This compound is offered for the adventurous drivers who:
- Do not like loud squeaking
- Do not like a lot of dust
- Do like extended rotor life

Being these pads are streetable therefore they are not intended for intensive and continuous hard braking over the temperature and speed limit on the race track, otherwise excessive wear may occur.

ET500 Series Characteristics:

Performacne Street Break-in Procedure:

All brake pads must be bedded-in with the rotor they will be used against. Even though performance street pads have been burnished at the factory, a transfer film must be generated at the pad and rotor interface for optimal performance. Whether you have new or used rotors, you must follow the bed-in steps listed below to maximize brake performance.

After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 brakings* from approximately 30-35 mph (do not go below 25 mph) applying moderate pressure.

Make an additional 2 to 3 hard brakings* from approximately 50 to 55 mph (do not go below 40 mph).

Allow 15 minutes for the brake system to cool down.

Caution:
* As you make these brakings, make sure you never drag the braking to a complete stop.
Do not sand or grind the brake pads or rotors after this burnishing procedure has been completed.
Your performance street pads are now ready for driving!

Excessive heat can cause resins in your brake pad to vaporize or “outgas.” As the brake pad wears, the used friction material turns into a fine dust. This boundary layer of heat, gas and dust builds up between the pad and rotor surface and inhibits performance. Here’s where Power Slot’s slotted brake rotors make a big difference.

Power Slot’s exclusive Vac-U-Slots are machined into the rotor and help evacuate gasses and dust, shed heat, and keep the brake pad surface clean. And in wet, raining conditions, the Vac-U-Slot helps push water off the braking surface for better stopping power.

Power Slot slotted brake rotors are finished in a military-spec Type II/Class II Cadmium plating for the ultimate rust resistance. Although contact with the brake pad will eventually wear out the plating on the braking surface, Power Slot’s Cadmium plating continues to protect the internal cooling vanes that provide critical structural support for the rotor.

For our most performance oriented customers, such as club, and auto-Cross racers, we recommend Power Slot’s Cryo-Treated rotors.

What is cryogenic treatment? Deep cryogenic treatment is a one-time process that permanently improves the performance and service life of metals from brake torots to gear sets. Using a proprietary computer-controlled process, the metal is cooled gradually to -300 deg. F and then slowly returned to room temperature and heat-cycled as the final step.

Although not apparent to the naked eye, the improvements to the rotor are significant. The cryogenic treatment process increases tensile strength and gives the rotor an extra level of protection against warping.

The 4000 Series Wiper-Slot rotor has a unique 6x6 slotted design for extreme stopping power on the road and the track. As with every DBA rotor, the 4000 Series rotor bolts right onto the vehicle with no mechanical changes needed.

DBA's mid-series, enhanced-performance, slotted rotor features Thermal Stability Profiling (TSP) for improved heat handling and Thermo-Graphic paint markings for effective heat monitoring.

''Kangaroo Paw'' is a patented, high-tech disc rotor ventilation system designed and manufactured in Australia by Disc Brakes Australia and available on rotors for select applications. "Kangaroo Paw" technology delivers significantly improved braking performance. Even under extreme braking conditions. Kangaroo Paw rotor designs run cooler, are stronger, and outperform traditional straight-vane disc rotors.

The ''Kangaroo Paw'' design features a series of 144 diamond- and tear drop-shaped pillars and columns individually spaced between the rotor faces.



This system provides two key advantages.

First, is the ability to cool the rotor faster than ever before. As the disc rotor rotates, aerodynamic turbulence around the individual pillars and columns is generated, increasing the force of hot air out from within the internal areas of the rotor.

Second is increased dimensional stability across the disc rotor directly achieved by the individually spaced pillars and columns.

These advantages increase the disc rotor's efficiency by as much as 20% when compared to conventional rotor designs. A 20% increase in disc rotor efficiency directly translates to reduced brake operating temperatures, brake fade, disc rotor stresses, disc thickness variation, run-out and shudder.

All 4000 series rotors also benefit from DBA's "Longlife Slotted" design. The rotors are manufactured to QS-9000 quality standards using premium grade materials with a high iron content and dense metal matrix resulting in long wear and safe, consistent stopping power.

- Unidirectional slotting (left and right) increases pad bite, reduces fade and delivers exceptional braking performance.
- Slots continually de-glaze the brake pads improving efficiency and reducing rotor scoring.
- Slots even out wear across the brake pad faces, increasing the effective contact area and extending rotor life.
- Slots help dissipate water when driving in poor weather, as well as pump away dust and dirt.
- Slotting also combats "out-gassing," where gas (from the pad bonding agents) can form a cushion between pad and rotor, greatly reducing braking power.

The EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller) makes it possible for the driver to control the damping force at the touch of a button while in the driver's seat.

This is accomplished by controlling incrementally stepping servo motors installed on each shock absorber. Because the damping force can be controlled with such ease, the driver can adjust the suspension while on the road to suit all road/track conditions.

Allows for three suspension presets, as well as 16 degrees of adjustability for both front and rear for fine tuning.

Tein has two different OEM replacement springs available. The H-Tech's will give your car a slightly lower stance with improved handling, and the S-Tech's will give your car a very agressive stance. TEIN's Type HG setup is designed for rally and dirt trail racing. Tein Super Racing Coilovers

Developed from actual competition, TEIN was able to create a fully adjustable damper that can be easily tuned for any track and weather conditions. Super Racing Dampers utilize a full-length adjustment system to allow shock length and spring pre-load to be adjusted independently. Separate 16 - way adjustments for compression and rebound damping enable the user to fine tune for any situation.

TEIN has incorporated both camber and caster adjustment into the front pillow ball upper mounts for strut type vehicles. External reservoirs allow for added oil capacity. Spring rates and shock valving were derived from many years of motorsports support, to provide the ultimate damper for competition. Designed and tested for circuit use by advanced and professional drivers who are seeking complete damper tuning capability.

To further enhance the dynamic characteristics of the Impreza, Prodrive has developed a high-performance spring kit for the STi, which is manufactured by Eibach. Both kits are designed to work with the factory struts.

With the introduction of the re-rated springs, the car is lowered by approximately 25mm. The lowering of the center of gravity leads to a reduction in body roll and gives improved high-speed handling, aerodynamic stability, traction levels and both steering response and weight transfer.

We Stock the Whiteline Roll Center Adjust kit!

The Front Roll Center Adjustment Kit from Whiteline is designed to raise front roll-centre geometry by using new special ball-joints, while maintaining original bump-steer by using new tie-rod ends. Changing the front suspension geometry by raising roll-centre results in substantial increase to roll resistance and significant reduction of suspension compression of the outside front wheel during cornering through improved weight transfer distribution. During cornering, this leads to significantly reduced understeer by reducing front wheel compression, as well as improved steering feel and precision and vehicle stability.

This Kit is a must for all cars that are lowered, and the more agressivly you have lowered your car, the more you need this kit.

Whiteline has designed their Positive Shift Kit for the 2008+ WRX and STI to replace the OEM rubber bushings with a stiffer polyurethane bushing.

They stiffen up the mounts, making the transmission have less “play” or movement; thus giving more direct and secure feel when shifting.

Looking to eliminate the body roll and understeer that the standard WRX is cursed with? Look no further than the race inspired design of the new COBB Tuning Sway Bars.

The primary goal when upgrading your sway bars is to “balance” the suspension of your vehicle by increasing the spring rate, or the amount of force it takes to flex the bar. The main Chromoly splined rear bar is black zinc plated with anodized aluminum arms fitted to both ends. This new style design significantly increases the spring rate over the OEM rear sway bar by 230%, 350%, and 535% with the three different end link mounting positions.

The improvements result in the race car-like response you have been looking for! The new splined rear bar design allows you the ability to pre-tension the bar by simply adjusting the positions of the arms on the splines as well as the three positions the end links can attach to the arms. The tubular construction of the front bar, coupled with the unmatched adjustability of the rear bar makes this set a must have for any handling enthusiast!

Cobb's sway bars are designed to greatly reduce body roll and provide a much more predictable handling characteristic without decreasing the ride quality. Cobb bars have been carefully balanced and when used as a system, understeer is a thing of the past. To allow the driver to cater the system to their tastes, the rear bar is adjustable which can provide more or less oversteer for given conditions.

What makes these bars unique is their hollow (tubular) construction which results in a much lighter and technically superior design compared to the lesser solid bar design. This is the very reason why you'll find tubular sway bars used on high-end performance vehicles and race cars.

The tubular design is more expensive and more difficult to manufacturer but that should not be any excuse for not offering the best solution possible. From even a purely aesthetic point of view, the style of the thick, aggressive 25mm diameter sway bar easily visible from behind the car screams that you're serious about performance!!

Whiteline offer's a variety of choices when it comes to Sway-Bar's, and we have most of them in stock. They Start at $174.00 and go up depending on diameter.

Whiteline Automotive has been developing and manufacturing suspension components for over 40 years in Australia. They also specialize in producing a wide variety of suspension components for Subaru’s, and offer a number of different sway-bar options.

All Whiteline Sway-Bars are constructed of solid high-grade steel, and most of Whiteline Sway-Bars are available in either 2-way or 3-way adjustable versions.

A 3-way adjustable bar is rated at its neutral setting, which is the middle hole on the bar. If you mount the endlinks to the bar using the soft setting (making the lever arm longest, or the furthest hole away from the sway-bar mounts), this will reduce it’s effective diameter by approximately 1mm. Mounting the endlinks in the stiff setting (with the shortest lever arm) will increase the bars effective diameter by aproximtely 1mm.

So a 3-way adjustable 22mm bar can be set to be either 21mm, 22mm, or 23mm.

A 2-Way adjustable bar is rated at its neutral setting which is actually in-between the two mounting holes on the bar. The softer setting will actually decrease the bars effective diameter by approximately .5mm, where as the still setting will increase the bars effective diameter by approximately .5mm.

So a 2-way adjustable 20mm bar can be set to either 19.5mm, or 20.5mm.

Both the Perrin Rear Sub-Frame Lock-down Kit, and the Cusco Rear Power Brace are designed to improve your car's handling by minimizing movement in the rear sub-frame. Both make a solid improvement, and do make the car feel more stable when cornering.

We have tested both on the Flatirons Tuning Project Car, and have found that though they work well on their own, they perfectly compliment each other, and reduce rear sub-frame flex almost to zero when used together. So we have decided to put them together in a kit for our customers.
