sweet. what neighborhood in seattle?

/me lived in capitol hill, wedgwood, and sand point over the last few years before NY

oh, also, no matter where you live these restaurants are excellent: Buddha Ruksa (West Seattle, Thai), Carmelita (Greenlake, vegetarian), Serafina (Eastlake, Italian/modern), Tilth (Wallingford, local/natural cuisine), Serious Pie (Downtown, modern/weird pizza).

good luck with the relo, lived in the PNW (stationed at Ft. Lewis) and miss it! Very cool area, miss the summers when the rain finally stopped.

Get ready for a lot of cloudy days!

Make sure you hit up the best Tavern in Seattle as well. The Eastlake Zoo. It's just up the road from Serafina, and if you do that, might as well come get me because I work down the street from Serafina

Have a safe trip!

Will be in Sand Point area. My company has an office in Bellevue so I know the commute might suck but really, I should be working mostly on east-coast hours so maybe i can beat the traffic morning and afternoon.

Have fun, the PNW is probably one of the most beautiful parts of the country. More than the rainy weather, don't let the annoying people get you down.

I never really saw any road rage in the pnw. That said, they have, by far, the highest stupid driver per capita quotient I've ever seen. They're so dumb, it's mind boggling.

Welcome!

Just so you know, my g/f did the Sandpoint to Issaquah commute until recently (we moved to Ballard) but she was getting there early (~6:00am) and leaving early. She said it wasn't too bad.

Oh, and we're having an exceptionally wet fall right now which has been great for mountain snowfall, but lame for being in town.

Welcome. You'll have the reverse commute so it shouldn't be too bad. However there is talk about collecting tolls on I-520.
