I got approved so I just need to come up with the down payment.
My insurance might total the E36 and I might try and buy it back from them and part it out.

I have heard horror stories of buying vehicles off of Ebay.....my buddies sister bought one and when she started it up it ran like crap....after further investigation there was nothing but water and antifreeze in the oil pan and in the transmission and nothing in the radiator. Two of the four cylinders were bad as well. The car looked good in and out but the engine and transmission were toast.....

bummer. I have purchased 5 vehicles on ebay

ebay has car-buyer protection as well as paypal if you use that for your deposit amount, it is way more legitimate now than it was when it first started a few years back

Yeah I knew of a guy that bought an 06 STi off of eBay and it showed up with a terrible knock despite being described as being in good running condition (I guess it was technically running...). The buyer had it fixed under warranty and quickly sold the car, making a profit.

I've heard people having good experience buying some cheap older Subarus off eBay.
