I like it! I have walked around my Baja countless times and come up with a very similar dividing of the paint lines. I was thinking about a brighter red though. A thin black line seperating the colors might look good too.

Hmmm...

Not sure if I like it or not.

I think I saw a Red/black Baja once on the road. now that was pretty slick! Red body with black cladding.

eh the more I look at it the more I like it.

I always liked the OEM 2 tones - especially the Yellow - that red isn't my thing, but I think that's a nice 2-tone division...

Me too. My much loved little Dodge Shadow ES(RIP) was black and silver. Loved that car. It was nice looking too.

I liked just about all the two tone colors on the Baja. The silver really makes it hard for me to choose! But I do really like the red. If I would've went with yellow I really would have been out there! Only colors I don't like at all on the Baja are the solid reds, silvers and blues. ick!

Cool

That looks really good and I llike it. If I were to do it, I'd do a dark/medium blue on top and silver on the bottom. It kind of reminds me of some of the GM cars back in the 70s and 80s.

Not buying one until 2006 I didn't have much of a choice on the solid thing lol - at least my solid silver hides dirt well (since she doesn't get washed much).

but if I ever need to repaint, I'd spray some yellow on the upper half in a heartbeat!

I like it! (the pic up above)

My favorite of the 2 color ones is black and silver. I really don't like black cars but the black and silver baja is sexy!

I'm the opposite of you. I refused to buy a two tone one and held out for one of the solid colors. I rarely see other monochromatic Bajas around here, and maybe one other of the same color, and I see a few a day.

What does a custom two-toned paint job cost?

Thanks, everyone. First I'll be lowering and installing a supercharger, but the paint will be next. My inspiration came from a new Dodge Charger I saw locally that was black on the bottom and silver on the top.

It gave the idea to utilize the existing two-tone scheme and just have the silver paint extended up to the natural body line/crease above the cladding.

Last time I had that amount of paint applied by a local custom painter, he only charged me $600. It won't require the typical changes when doing a color change because the inside of the doors, etc. are red anyhow even where the silver cladding comes in.

It's kinda cool, you've given me an idea to maybe someday pursue it from the opposite direction - i.e. I have a solid silver Baja - they could mask and spray the upper side a contrasting color (like Yellow).

I'm really surprised at how negative the folks over at legacygt.com have been. Very interesting. I guess I'm of the the "to each their own" opinion. Although, I did ask for opinions. LOL

Yellow or even orange with yellow would be cool. With that, you could put a thin black line between the two colors and it would look very custom.

That would so rock, but I'd almost want to take it all the way - make the black on the plastics a textured bedliner material!!!

err, nah. Looks like it's trying too hard to be a Avalanche or a Stanley tool box from Walmart.

Here is another pshop that I did (a little rough) utilizing an existing pshop that someone else had done on their lowered Baja.

Thumbs up

The yellow and black give it a Tonka truck look.

the 1st red/silver pshop looked good the 2nd, not so much. in the 1st one the paint ends nicely with a curve down, the 2nd needs more of a wedge shape if you carry it to the back. maybe ending in the corner just where the taillight meets the body. the way it looks is that the 1st one is for a red baja adding silver, the 2nd is for a silver baja adding red. think about that and it makes sence i promise.

steve: i like the concept but not on yellow. actually black might be the only color that could pull off textured finish cladding, it would be different without distraction.

love the black and yellow kev. I am actually thinking bed liner along the bottom with possibly a copper or metallic burnt orange on top. I have gotten a few remarks that it would look terrible, but I think it would look great!

LOL, I would so do that paint job - Black and Orange! Harley and Halloween colors

Yup, I'd do it, my wife would kick my A!@#$%@% but I'd do it...

Reminds me of the original Baja concept a little bit...

Not the best picture from a color perspective (I think it was deeper IRL)

I think this is the one your thinking of:

and yea, I would love to take it as close to the concept car as possible, including a super charger.

Its funny you said that, because thats the only way i planned on doing it, a gloss black on bottom would just look kinda wierd. the texture would make it look even meaner. i just dont like all the colors my vehicle is right now, we got yellow, silver, chrome, and black. I like one color, or two at the very most.
