Mine's a bit heavy at ~2500lbs. Roll bar, full trunk, etc. It's a blast!

Ed,

I think you mean Absurdflow turbo manifold, not intake manifold.

And that thing feels strong for 275hp!

Yes, sorry, been on the phone all day sorting bills for the new house. Coming from you (Mr. RX7 with-something-that-is-not-a-rotary-inside), that means a lot.

That has to be a really fun car to drive. I tuned a Miata for a customer with a BEGI turbo kit on an otherwise stock car and made something like 235whp at 10 psi on 91 octane fuel. I giggled like a school girl on the test drive

School girl giggling is probably the best way to describe the feeling. Although BEGI does fill a niche along w/ Flyin Miata, I chose to go with the Absurdflow setup based on feedback from experienced folks on Miataturbo.net. I asked a local moderator which kit he would go with, and he said to contact TurboTim on the boards. I do appreciate all the work Corky Bell has done....but their quality is spotty at times. My intake manifold (BEGI - Bell Engineering) was not the best quality - poor coating, a really rough inside (tons of sand-sized "balls" that I could just see breaking off and getting sucked into the engine), poorly stamped "MIATA TURBO" raised letters...However, it's easy to get Corky on the phone and pick his brain.

Megasquirt (kit built by Braineack). You can run it as a standalone or in parallel. I chose parallel b/c of OBDII emissions for my model year car.

I bugged TurboXS a bunch of times to see if they wanted to use my car for UTEC development...but too many things on their plate. Plus, it's an older car (even if there are a bazillion Miatas out there).

I've raced with these Miatas at the road course......they handle so good.
Can't even imagine this power in this little car.

Just a tad over 2,500 lbs when weighed w/ rollbar, full tank of gas, some items in the trunk. I might've been in the car when it was corner-balanced. Need to confirm again.

I really, really need to get another DD. If the car ever goes down, I need to call rogue or someone else w/ too many cars and see if I can borrow it.

I had some issue w/ the map b/c the TB is so huge, tuning was a pain. The initial tuner did a great job in the higher rpms. The local guy, Braineack, did a great job smoothing out the tune and startup. It just needs a tiny bit of tweaking startup.

I drove a few of the Andrewtech cars, been in quite a few like mikaust's, TAPOUT's, etc. This has a similar smile factor.

??? YORE Quickkid80? Holy lame-name..... You didn't look like a kid to me!

I think in the Spring we'll do some tweaking and aim for 300whp. I just moved into a new home so haven't even switched over to winter tires. Was stuck sliding last Saturday in the snow.
